Romantic
Recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp is romantic.
We have a wooded 3 acre lot nestled between the popular vacation destinations of South Haven and Saugatuck. We have one campsite on our property that is home to a 16 foot bell tent on a raised deck. Public beach access in Glenn is a 10 minute walk from our property or a 1 minute drive (limited parallel parking on 114th street) Nearby attractions include numerous wineries, breweries, restaurants and more. Within walking distance is a full service convenience store that serves some of the best pizza around. The towns of Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville and South Haven are all approximately a ten minute drive. When you pull into our driveway, you will find parking immediately on your right. The trail to the campsite begins behind the blue garage. A short walk from parking near the main house you will find the “comfort station” among the stand of quaking aspens. It houses a composting toilet, a sink with running water, an electric kettle with tea, coffee and mugs provided. There is also an outdoor shower with an on demand propane water heater. A short distance from the comfort station is a clearing with a fire pit and just beyond that is the bell tent. Inside the tent you will find a very comfortable queen size bed with clean bedding provided, chairs and a small table.

Perfect glamping experience!
Lovely accommodations, and wonderful location. This camp strikes a perfect balance between comfort and the great outdoors. My girlfriend and I loved it!

It’s a lovely, secluded but not in a creepy way, campground. A lot of wildlife and the area is quiet but also full of life. Lots to do that’s not a far walk or drive.

It was the perfect environment and set-up for what I was looking for. I would just recommend for anyone coming possibly have a little wagon or something that you could use to bring things back to the yurt including a cooler. It is quite a ways back there from the parking area which is necessary in order to get the seclusion in the forest so being prepared is helpful. Clean, environmentally responsible, short distance to a secluded beach area, etc. I will return hopefully!

Daniel the MANiel
Fernside was a wonderful stay for me, my significant other, and our puppy. Daniel was very meticulous in his design as every little detail stood out whether it was string-lighting powered by solar panels surrounding the yurt/tent, charged fans in the comfort station, or even toilet paper inside our living space in case we couldn't made it to the designated toilet (which didn't happen but was comforting to know it was there). Thank you for the stay, we are wishing the best for you and this gem of a spot!

Sweet September Camping
The campsite was lovely. David is super responsive and kind! There's so, so much to do in close proximity while still feeling like you're not too far out. My partner and I went down to a nearby beach at night to check out the stars, visited the local lavender farm, and spent some time eating our way around town. During our September visit, we found there to be a lot of insects in the comfort station (I prob should've expected this because duh, summer camping), but they don't bother you at all. The bed in the tent is extremely cozy and everything was very clean. Just make sure to bring a headlight for the evenings and maybe some extra lighting for inside!

We had a wonderful stay at Fernside! It was so peaceful and cozy. The comfort station was super clean and the shower water was warm. Would definitely recommend.
