True outdoors
Tent · Group trip
I loved the tenting experience on Jeff’s land. It is very private true outdoor experience, the location was beautiful and the campfire overlooks a beaver den. Beavers can be seen swimming in the water and and heard at night slapping their tails. There is some bugs and ants which are to be expected, but I would recommend this location to anyone looking to enjoy nature and see some wildlife.

Beautiful, but deer flies! (7/3/22)
Tent · With pets
We are new to Minnesota and are used to being about to camp year-round in Oklahoma. We drove 4 1/2 hours from southern Minnesota and the place was absolutely beautiful! Just the type of place we look for when we off-grid camp with us and our two mastiffs. Unfortunately, the second we opened our camper van doors, we were swarmed by flocks of deer flies and even when we jogged around the property, they kept up with our mastiffs and bit them relentlessly. We have never experienced deer flies before so we were totally unprepared. We immediately loaded up and headed back home. Had it just been my husband and me, we would have probably put on some of the DEET we brought and tried to tough it out, but we felt too bad for our pups the flies seemed to be more attracted to (they're black mastiffs which probably didn't help now that I've read they're attracted to dark colors). We arrived on the evening of July 3rd, so perhaps that is the worst time of year for them? We were super bummed, but hopefully, we can go back in September when the flies aren't as bad. I just wish we had been aware so we could have tried to have been better prepared.

If you are looking for a serene, remote experience, then check out Forest Cleanse on 40 Acres. The campsite was well maintained while providing that isolated in the wilderness feeling we were looking for. Fire ring is placed overlooking a beaver pond, and we spend many enjoyable hours watching the beavers and relaxing by the fire. There is plenty of room for tents, we had two large 7 person tents and a large screen gazebo and there was room for several more. There are also several trees ideal for a hammock right in the middle of the site. If you are looking for a getaway without all the amenities I highly recommend this location. Just remember, this is northern Minnesota next to a pond, so be prepared for mosquitos, we used bug spray and a mosquito repellent coil and had no issues.

We had a wonderful experience at Forest Cleanse! The Site was perfect with lots of space and options for tent sites. It was VERY private and quiet, which is exactly what we were looking for. Great loop trail around the beaver pond. The birch stand behind the campsite was really beautiful. We loved watching the beavers go back and forth to the lodge, a pair of Ring Necked Ducks, and mating Goldfinch. We spent a day at Itasca State Park too. Great stay!

We very much enjoyed our weekend here and the weather was perfect for mid October! The beavers kept us entertained while we sat at the fire. A lot of space to explore and enjoy the beautiful scenery

Group trip
The forest cleanse on 40 acres was exactly as described. Very peaceful and lots of walking trails. The site itself is a good size for group camping and you can drive right up into it! We would definitely go back.
