A small acreage filled with love and lots of animals. Only 3 beautiful miles from the Mississippi River, this old ridgetop farmstead has been standing for well over 125 years. The old windmill sings songs from the past, lightening bugs are as bright and numerous as the summer stars and the rhythms of the land are an invitation to slow down, unplug and just BE. Life starts early on the farm, with natures own alarm clocks inviting you to wake and view the spectacular ridge top sunrises. This small piece of heaven is part of a unique land formation known as the Driftless Region. The last ice age glaciers bypassed this area, leaving beautiful, rugged bluffs and coulees. The karst geology is responsible for the many caves, springs, fresh water trout streams and ecological diversity in the area. Gift it Forward Farm offers itself as a "homebase" to return to after a day of exploring this beautiful area, or as a peaceful place to unwind, relax and reconnect to the land. We have organic eggs from free-ranging, happy chickens and home grown, heirloom garden produce is also available in season. We hope you will join us in experiencing the many gifts this old farm has to offer!

Sarah was such a kind and warm hostess. I was extremely comfortable in the horse trailer. A massive thunderstorm storm came through on my first evening, but I remained high and dry. The solar powered lights worked great, and the cot was very well made. The animals are all so sweet. I had no problem finding a ton of hiking trails nearby, and there were plenty of opportunities to see live music. I would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend.

Bikepacking through Minnesota
I slept in the horse trailer and it was a great shelter. Nice to not have to setup the tent with an approaching storm. Fresh water and clean bathroom (porta potti) was great. Sarah was very friendly and gave me ride I needed (I was bikepacking). I definitely recommend her site.

Awesome Hospitality
Awesome host who was very welcoming and accommodating. We ran into some weather on our bike tour and tented in the barn which was great. Fresh eggs, friendly animals, and fun chatting. We can't wait to come back.
