Please contact me through here 1-2 days prior to your arrival so I can get your area ready. As there may be one other camper from time to time as well. I want you to have the privacy and the experience as if it was only you and you’re family staying. This 53 acres use to be owned by a guy named John Helberg which is who the road is named after. It’s the original homestead land dated over 100 years ago where they farmed for there dairy cows and other livestock. This is right off a dead end road. You will have a view of a Montana farm field with the Rocky Mountains in the background. Dark nights out of the town means the stars will be out and about! This is a quiet secluded area there is a house near by, he is an older gentlemen you won’t even know he’s there. Depending on time of year there will be a field full of crop or the farm getting farmed. There very well could be some horses near by to pet!! Located 10 minutes from the lakes. 5 minutes from a reservoir. 10 minutes from town. 15 min to closest hiking areas. Helena really is the heart of fun very centralized for all directions of fun! Very easy pull in and pull out area. Please not there may be other campers enjoying as well Black Sandy State Park and Helena National Park are both under 15 miles away. Enjoy hiking and If you’re the boating type, head down the Missouri river in search of a rumored rope swing or jump off the boat for a dip in the crystal waters of Hauser Lake. Looking to avoid all the crowds or enjoy a solitary weekend under the endless Montana sky? Just head to Black Sandy during the winter months! You’ll find the same great stunning views and an ice skating experience that will put your grandparents’ childhood tales to shame. I do have power 50 amp, fresh water, grey water hook up, no black water. This option may not be available all of the time. This is right off a dead end road. Great peace & quiet with hookups
30 ft travel trailer
Colton’s place was perfect for us. We have family in Helena and needed a quiet place outside town, away from busy roads to crash at night with our scared to death rescue mutt. We hooked up to the electric and water at his secondary spot next to a farm building in the field and it was perfect for us. Dump station at Lowe’s in town so we had everything we needed. I’ll take this any day over the KOA on the road! Thank you Colton.

We really enjoyed our time on Colton’s farm. We’re on our way to Alaska and originally planned to stay only one night in Helena at the local KOA. Our RV refrigerator had a different plan and we were delayed for a week waiting for parts. We knew we didn’t want to stay in an RV park for that time and found Colton’s place on Hipcamp and knew it would be a better choice. It was a beautiful spot with 360 degree views. The first few days were smoked in from Canadian fires but once the smoke cleared it was beautiful. Very conveniently located to town but felt like you were in the country. Also near several lakes. Colton was very helpful. He was out of town when we arrived; so, he was not able to meet us when we arrived. Instead, he made a YouTube video so we would know where to go once we arrived. Very thoughtful. If we find ourselves in Helena again, we will definitely stay at Colton’s again.

An agricultural oasis

This is a great spot, I was happy to find something quick and easy but not right next to a busy highway. The main spots were actually full which we knew beforehand but this was not an issue because the helpful host had extra hoses and extension cords to get us hooked up.

Colton is a great host. We saw his property online and immediately knew it would be a better option than the local fairgrounds or KOA. Our intuition was correct. The pad was completely level, we had views from every direction and our dog loved visiting with the local horses. Miles of road to walk on and it was really quiet at night. Colton made sure to meet us upon arrival and checked in on us during our stay. When you love being off the beaten path, you will love this place! Thank you Colton!
