Over 26 acres of open woods for you to choose where and how you would like to set up camp. There is only one reservation allowed at a time, so the entire property is yours to enjoy. There is an open lot of approximately 2 acres at the beginning of the property adjacent to a quiet back road where you can park or set up camp. The back of the property is ideal for complete privacy and peace and quiet. This property connects to over four thousand acres of State Land that can be explored as you please. Fourteen miles of hiking trails offer magnificent views of the mountains and scenic Mountain Lake. The UACNJ Observatory at Jenny Jump is short drive, or a nice hike, from the property where free lectures and observing are open to the public every Saturday evening from April through October. The famous Shades of Death Road and Ghost Lake are also a short drive from the campsite.Over 26 acres of open woods for you to choose where and how you would like to set up camp. Jenny Jump Mountain
Hidden Retreat
We had a lovely time. Got the tent set up just in time for a thunderstorm to roll through but the spot is pretty well canopied and we were able to enjoy the rest of the evening back outside. It’s quite secluded but there’s enough noise that you know you’re never really far from civilization. Great spot for off leash dogs who have reliable recall.

This is what camping is all about! This is our second time here and we had an even better time. Site is great, it’s so peaceful and enjoyable. Hidden jem right in NJ. Can’t say enough good things. Thank you Shawn for allowing us to stay here!

Jenny Jump Mountain
My group enjoyed our stay at this campsite. We'd absolutely visit again. The wooded campsite was private and secluded. I'd recommend bringing a 4wd vehicle to access it. Otherwise, the meadow area may be better for 2wd cars.

Great hike, great times!
The location is super private, has enough space for many tents and SUVs have no trouble getting up the mountain to the spot. You have to figure out the toilet but everything else was set up great. There is a blue trail (Jenny Jump Trail) that connects to the wooded road that runs through the property. If you go up top to the old parking lot and head left you will get to blue trail. Head right on blue trail to get to the lake 3 miles away. Would definitely recommend and do this again!
