At the other side of the harbour is Ingonish Ferry. At one time the road around the harbour did not exist. People, horses and goods came across the bar by means of a ferry. There were many wharves with wooden ships tied up. The long white building on the corner used to be on the bar. A walk along the bar will award you with a view of the Keltic Lodge. Continue straight at the corner and you will find a trail that will take you to Ingonish beach.Welcome to Smokey View! Stand at the edge of Ingonish Harbor, look left, see Cape Smokey. Look right, Ski Cape Smokey. Walk 10 min to Ingonish Beach, no park pass is required. Private deck and green space included.  Sit on the deck and watch the sunrise.                       At the bottom of the road there is a great restaurant, NSLC, bank, gas station, and general store.  Fresh pastry? Visit the Good Witch of the North at Sugar Witch, five minute walk. This back-in site is the perfect place for RVs 25 feet and under. Pets are permitted, as well as fires within local regulations.  Steps away is a view of the Keltic Lodge above the ocean.    This site is not suitable for small children.

This campsite offers a picturesque and private experience right by the water, with breathtaking views and well-thought-out amenities like a fire pit, picnic table, and grassy area. Blair, the host, is frequently praised for being helpful and providing insightful local recommendations. Campers can enjoy a peaceful environment with the sound of waves and easy access to nature trails and local attractions. There is mention of nearby boat launch noise, but it generally doesn’t detract from the overall tranquil experience.

This was a nice private spot on the water with great views. Blair stopped by and was very helpful with ideas on hiking the area. Thanks Blair!

A secluded spot, right on the water with an eating / relaxing area, a small garden and a firepit with wood provided. The pictures do not do it justice.

Private & quiet
6 m Class B
Blair has created a beautiful, private camping spot. It is tucked into a lovely vegetated area surrounded by conifer trees, Aspens (or maybe Birch?) & other various plantings that offered protection from the wind we had the evening we were there. It is directly on the rivers edge, has a grassy area for sitting or playing with your dog, a picnic table out of the sun and a fire pit. Blair is very friendly and offered us all kinds of tips and ideas for not only our stay, but as we travelled about Cape Breton, truly a very special place. We hope to be back!

Ingonish Oasis!
1 m travel trailer
We had the best three days staying at Blair’s place! Private beach, grassy area, breakfast nook and a fire pit nestled away from the wind. Everything was perfectly thought out, well maintained and the most idyllic getaway. The views were breathtaking, with just a short walk to catch the sunrise in the morning. Blair gave great recommendations for exploring the area, and even spoiled us with local mussels! I couldn’t recommend this campsite more!
