Wicked awesome
Tent · With pets ·
Second time staying here. Absolutely love it. It was nice to see an airplane take off and do a touch and go. Site was clean and orderly. Would like to stay again if I am in the area.

Really neat hidden little site on the grounds of the airport. Felt very secluded and private. The firepit was really nice and helped to keep us a warm on a nice winter camping adventure. Heated bathroom was a very nice, and unexpected perk! Warning though, the walk from the campsite to the bathroom might be too much for non-able bodied folks. Josiah was responsive and helpful. Will absolutely stay again.

Mile High Campground We had the privilege of being Josiah’s first campers to enjoy the beauty of Mile High Campground during a two day heat advisory. The continual daytime breeze was very welcome. You will literally sleep along the airstrip pictured. All the sounds of nature are present and more. The deer will most definitely pop out of the woods to the rear of your site and maybe a horse too from a walking trail. The view from the large grassy partially shaded camp site is the mountain range that stretches from Wilkes-Barre on the right to Carbondale on the left. Lake Sheridan can be seen through the woods on the left of the site. A very nice smaller picnic table is provided, but no fire ring was present but we were fully aware of this and that could change. The bathroom facility is very adequate and clean as pictured and is easily reached by car, biking or walking a distance from the campsite. Josiah can be reached by phone if necessary and was on time for our meet and greet. His staff members are so friendly and supportive too. My husband and I plan to be back in the fall. If you enjoy watching small planes land and take off book your stay on a weekend. You won’t be disappointed.
