Stone Cove is a little slice of heaven in south central PA that we have been enjoying as a weekend get-away with family and friends for more than 10 years. As a new Hipcamp host we look forward to meeting new friends and helping more people enjoy the serenity of this very special piece of paradise in the foothills Buchanan State Forest of the Appalachian mountains. Firepit, communal, private. We have cut firewood for purchase and provide only a small starter bundle for each reservation. We ask that you do not bring in your own wood unless its been heat treated for pests. Toilet available

Portable toilet. Self sufficiency is incouraged - please take any garbage you create if you can when you leave. Porta jons are communal.

Pets allowed

Off leash. Please keep your dog in close proximity to you and under your control at all times while they enjoy the freedoms of being off leash. To ensure the peace, incessant barkers will be asked to leave.

Potable water available

Bottled water or jugs. limited potable water is available to refill drinking water containers or small pots for cooking.

Showers available

Hot water . In order to have hot water we must use the generator to run the pump so you will need to have camp host assistance.

Bins available

We will provide a garbage bin with a bag and lid, but ask the campers take out what they can in and practice leave no trace.

Stone Cove is a beautiful little piece of property with views of the nearby ridge. There is a spring fed swimming lake and a creek for "stomping". We drove a short distance up into Buchanon State Forest and took a lovely walk down the Sweetroot trail. Our 2 dogs were welcome as well.

We (our group) had a wonderful stay! Clean, beautiful and quiet. Would definitely stay again. The host was fantastic with help answering questions and providing directions (which I would absolutely follow because the GPS was having a fit). The views were spectacular and the swimming area was perfect. Could not have asked for a better weeknd. All the hummingbirds and butterflies were a bonus.

Great place to take the edge off!

The best spot where the pits are, a very quiet and cozy place. We have swam all day long, warm refreshing water. The singing birds are mesmerizing. We recommend it to everyone. Thank you very much Judy.

This was our second time staying at Stone Cove, and we had the absolute best time. Judy is so accommodating and friendly, and we’re so grateful to her for allowing us to stay on her property. It’s definitely somewhere we’d like to come back to!

Our group had an absolute BLAST tent camping at Stone Cove! We spent our days floating and swimming in the pond and our evenings around the campfire. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming, and we cannot wait to go back.
