Enjoy this 1 acre property that is right on the beautiful Edisto River. Set up an air mattress in the screened room underneath the house, bring your tent or for an additional charge use one of ours. Launch your jon boat from our ramp, swim from our floating dock, take a trip with our kayaks and canoe, sit around the fire pit, relax in the hammock, take in the beautiful sunset, and play some of the outdoor games (like corn hole) that are provided. We even have an outdoor TV! There is a toilet and sink available as well as an outdoor cold water shower. You can also use the hose and there is an electrical outlet available. Dogs are welcome, but must remain in your control as we do have neighbors. We are about 45 minutes from downtown Charleston and an hour from the beaches. Givhans Ferry State Park with a swimming beach is about 2 miles away on the river. * There is an additional site available if you would like to book more than 8 people, but no more than 10. A great place to get away together.

Our large family of 10 felt very comfortable at this camp area. We had access to the dock, and river. It was a very cool weekend for us, so we kept the fire going all weekend. It was nice to have running water, flushing toilets end electricity.

Luxury camping by the river

In short: Our family (parents with 3 children aged 11, 9 and 7) had a great time! We particularly enjoyed the possibility to use the kayaks at our convenience as well as the screened in porch. Amenities were clean, being able to wash our dishes in a sink with running water is pretty luxurious camping. The shower is functional though you shouldn't mind cold water, especially in the mornings. Mosquitos at the beginning of April were bearable, no idea how bad it gets in summer. Sherri was kind enough to provide bug spray which helped. There are a ton of outdoor toys as well as two gas grills which were both ready to use and a lot of outdoor furniture. We brought our own firewood but also could have used some of Sherri's in case we had run out. We met Sherri and her husband upon arrival, both made us feel very welcome, responded fast and helpfully to questions and are just very friendly people. And by the way, there's wifi - helpful as cell phone reception was spotty. The kids already asked to go back.
