We have 21 acres in the sand hills of Calhoun county just outside Columbia S C. Apply named Too Many Oaks Plantation, a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy time in your hammock reading by day and a roaring bonfire by night, We are planting a small mixed fruit orchard and building a chicken coop and garden to enjoy fresh eggs and whatever is in season. Close to Columbia ( 30 minutes ) for a nice trip to the zoo or a float down the Saluda River with Adventure Carolina. A perfect mix of nice and quite but still close to town. Also just in Synchronous fireflies, which are fireflies that gather and flash their lights at the same time as part of a mating ritual, are expected to light up the Congaree National Park in May. Check with park for detailsPitch your tent in the Oak grove and have access to your own picnic table and fire pit. Wonder through the wood and enjoy nature or hang your hammock in a shady spot to enjoy the day, at night, enjoy the stars in the front pasture and a big fire at your campsite. Don't worry about bringing fire wood we have too many oak trees and have piles of cut wood around the area. We are close to Columbia and you should drive in on Saturday morning to enjoy Soda City our main street farmers market. We are working on the farm house, garden and chicken coop now to bring our little farm to life and have just added a swing and axe throwing target to keep the kids busy while the adults set up camp. In May the Synchronous fireflies, which are fireflies that gather and flash their lights at the same time as part of a mating ritual, are expected to light up the Congaree National Park in May. Check with the park for details.

This was the perfect spot for my trip. Quiet and not far off the interstate. Great communication from host and beautiful setting among live oak trees

Awsome!

Micheal’s directions & communication were great. This was my first time using Hipcamp and I’m hooked!! Too many Oaks is so great! Easy to find (I arrived while still light). He already had the fire ready to go! The cabin is fantastic! Hot shower and full kitchen was better stocked then some $Abnb I’ve stayed in. Having water AND electric on site was also another luxury. This place is worth every dollar. My only pit was the road noise. But I knew I’d be close to the highway so I can’t fault too much but the site is close to a road with lots of dump truck traffic as there seemed to be construction so I’m sure it’s temporary. I’m excited to go back here again and see what progress they’ve made. Great spout!!!

This was a cute hidden gem for near by Columbia fun. Michael was very informative and very much keeping us updated on anything including a last minute reservation on the property with us. The cabin on property was very useful for a bathroom and kitchen especially the one day of our trip that rained. I loved the additions he had such as the axe throwing, the swing and the ability to explore with my little one. I will very much be back especially with the projects I see going on to what it might look like I think the couple things I would openly suggest to the host is to add some lights to the driveway to be able to see when going to the cabin in the middle of the night. The other thing is maybe adding some sort of railing to the steps. I would give this 5 stars no matter what, thank you again and looking forward to future visits.

2nd time but not our last
10 m fifth wheel · With pets
This was our 2nd time staying at Too Many Oaks Plantation. He's added more seating, a garbage can, and an axe throwing area. He came and cut down some branches to make it easier to get in and out for those with 5th wheels or larger rigs. One of our favorite stays. Michael is always very responsive and accommodating. Love having the use of the little cabin. Can't wait to come back next year!

We were only here one night, but it was comfortable and private. Had no issues and would stay again!

Quaint farmhouse, camping

Replace to RV and camp. We love the ax throwing and the old farmhouse is very quaint. We recommend to anyone who we need to stop over.
