A little haven of warmth and relaxation.
I have a renovated fully serviced shack and a few camp spots on my 7.5 acre property situated in a quiet location along the Coast road to the far south of Tasmania over looking the Huon River. The property is close to gorgeous white sand beaches. We have a wood fired sauna for guest use on the property. Near by attractions Include the Hartz Mountains, Hastings Caves, and South West National park.Situated in a tranquil setting overlooking the Huon River. This small Shack is cosy an ideal relaxing getaway for two. For a real authentic Tassie outdoor experience enjoy cooking on the outdoor fire beneath the stars, watch the sunrise over the River from the Outdoor tub, private use of our wood fired sauna, use of kayaks on the River and embrace the experience of using a composting toilet. We are close to some of the most pristine beaches, amazing walks, National Parks and wonderful eateries. The room is small with a Double bed, the kitchenette has a bench top oven with two hot plates and mini fridge. The composting toilet is separate to the living area.

Gorgeous Spot To Unwind
It’s a toss up between the cabin, the loo and the sauna for the best view out over the Huon River and to the mountains beyond. The host Jem is lovely and welcoming and went out of her way to make us feel at home. We stayed here after camping out for a week in our camper trailer and it was the perfect way to start de-camping if you know what I mean. I think we’ll be making Driftaway an annual pilgrimage.

The best little getaway place for two! It was private, clean, well organised and had everything you needed; and the amazing view topped it all off. Highly recommend!!

Stunning views across the water. Lovely little shack. Outback dunny was the only inconvenience for us (could use a window on the door), otherwise very easy to find and the loaf of bread was a nice addition.

Amazing view ! Super nice host !
I love the view of this place, the stars in the night, the moon and the view in the morning, the kayak activity is a bonus ! Only the way up to the campsite is a bit difficult. 4x4 will do easily, but 2 wheel is going to be difficult. But Jemma is helping us out and give us an alternative way, she is super friendly, her home made bread was so delicious! Will be back for sure. ❤️

Fire with a view
Wow! It was truly a heavenly experience! As soon as we arrived, we were mesmerized by the stunning view that we would be enjoying for the next 24 hours. The cozy shack may be small, but it is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The highlight was definitely the freshly baked loaf of bread, still warm and inviting us to indulge, accompanied by freshly laid eggs for our breakfast along with condiments and fresh milk. Thank you, Jemma, for sharing your little piece of heaven without a doubt we will return.
