Quiet and peaceful location. Blake is a super responsive host! Beautiful sunset and super cute firepit built with the natural stone structures. We didn't have a fire due to fire ban but can see how it would be a perfect end to your day. Would recommend!
You can tell spring time is absolutely going to explode with color and flowers thanks to the bees that call this little slice of hill country heaven home!
The creek and surrounding rock is pretty and the terrain is easy to traverse.
We saw evidence of a quite a few animals -tracks, cactus nibbled, etc. and laid eyes on deer, an armadillo, plenty of birds, bees, and all kinds of butterflies.
Blake was VERY kind and attentave throughout the whole booking experience and our stay! ( He gave us a lot of suggestions on things to do and places to eat in the area, as well as stellar directions)
I saw in other reviews, people mentioned road noise - it was quiet throughout the night, with just a little bit of noise early in the morning and evenings. If you are busy exploring and enjoying what's around you, the noise pretty much dissappears. I wouldn't say it subtracted from our experience at all.
We brought our 22ft Class C camper, we couldn't make it to the back of the property due to our width, but Blake was able to accommodate us and we had a nice spot at the front of the property.
He mentioned he will be making improvements to the land so rigs can get further in!
If you have a car with a bit of clearance, the trail in isn't too bad, a few slabs of rock with a step down but nothing too technical!
We were the only ones there, but if each site is taken, there is plenty of distance between each for it to still feel very private.
Super happy and you can't ask for a better host!
We had a great time! I do recommend taking a 4WD vehicle since the road is red dirt and could get muddy in bad weather. This is definitely a more advanced camping spot which is perfect for campers looking for a more primitive experience. My only recommendation to the host would be making the entrance a little more obvious. Overall a really fun time!
Blake is great to communicate and the site was easy to find. The little river nearby is nice to walk around but it is a little difficult to get down to. The plots are big enough for 2-3 x 2 person tents.
We didn’t get to stay at this site because it wasn’t large enough to accommodate our group of 8 and 3 dogs. We paid the extra per person fees, and i communicated that there would be 2 pick up truck campers and 1 more car. I would say this site can fit 2-4 people with 1 vehicle. Parking is very tight and very little space to hang out as 90% of the site is covered with cactus. The 13’ tent was fine but had so many tie downs around it that walking was difficult, one minor trip would easily land someone on a cactus. We had a last minute scramble to secure lodging elsewhere at sunset after driving 10 hrs to get there. I get the impression that this is a new campground so there is room for improvement, but my experience was not good and was left feeling scammed.
Had a great time! Beautiful land and enjoyed walking alone the creek, sites have great views. Would recommend!
