Great camping with great amenities

Such a wonderful accommodating camping experience! We set up tents and had a perfect walking distance from bathrooms and the community “armadillo shack” that was stocked with cooking tools, gas, charcoal and even freshly made coffee! Loved exploring the property and was an easy/ quick drive to the park. We will definitely go again.

Great escape
Tent · With kids ·
Very well maintained and friendly atmosphere. The communal area came in clutch. Coffee in the morning gives you a brief chance to be social with other campers. The primitive sites are very secluded with the cedar trees surrounding them. Site H is by far the best. Your back is to to a fence and there is a trail connecting to the next site over for a bigger group. Road to the sites is a little rough but it adds to the experience. Overall it’s a great place and definitely worth a return visit.

The place itself was fantastic: clear communications and signage. The camping spot was private as advertised and nicely shaded. Great location for hiking at Pedernales. Unfortunately campers surrounding us kept the party going well past quiet hours. Music, loud rough speech. We’ll be back, just not on a weekend.

The property was excellent for those that want to primitive camp but need some comforts of home. Due to the fire ban we were unable to cook at the campsite but the camp kitchen firepit allowed me to use the Dutch oven for making stew with the swing away grill made additional cooking easy. I highly recommend this site!
