A group of friends and I watched the eclipse on Daniel’s beautiful land. It’s a huge pasture, which was covered in bluebonnets during our stay. There were 3 or 4 other groups but there was so much space we couldn’t even hear the others. And the woods adjacent to the pasture had plenty of shade and dry wood for our fire.
The cows come and go, and will get close if you let them, but they’re easy to shoo away. Since it’s an active pasture there are lots of cowpies, but most are old and dry and had no smell. The air smells like the flowers and trees.
All my friends had cell service, and some even had a decent data connection.
If you can go without a bathroom and don’t mind cows/cowpies, you’ll love this spot. Peaceful, easy, and affordable.
