Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Hello! We are so excited that you are interested in staying at The River Bottom. This property is primitive with 132 acres of prairie land, trees, a pond, a river, creeks, and wildlife. We can accommodate RVs, camper vans, tents, or people who want to park and hike to a primitive camp spot. Campsites are to the left of the entrance near the road; however, there is very little traffic as there are few neighbors. We offer fire pits at each campsite with some included firewood. There is minimal light pollution, and stargazing is a must! Keep an eye out for petrified wood and arrowheads. If you're quiet enough, you might see some deer or other incredible wildlife.

The hosts are kind and generous, supplied firewood and recommended a walk through the property which was stunning. The campsite is close to other campers and right on the road. The road isn't terribly busy but the campsite was more exposed and less private than I would have liked. Lovely property with cows nearby, definitely a rural Texas experience.

Staying at Audrey’s place was easy and serene! The campsite offered its own privacy and Audrey was kind enough to provide ample firewood. Listening to the horses and cows made for a beautiful background noise. If you’re looking for a spot with minimal other campers, your own area and a kind host pick here!

Awesome!

Tent camping here was awesome. Our tent site had a great fire pit, plenty of space and a great view of a field and woods. My kids had a great time exploring the woods and creek. There are also open fields they could run around in. The hosts were super friendly and accommodating. This is a great property and we can't wait to come back again this summer.
