17 acres, with 2 cleared, only 3 kms as the crow flies, from the coast. You can hear the surf in the evening. The property is the bush refuge corner of a larger grazing property. Whilst sheep and cattle graze on one side of the fence, the wildlife grazing on "our" side includes echidnas, wombats, wallabies, possums, koalas, and is home to more than 30 species of birds identified so far. Tarwin Lower EcoStudio is not far out of town and the Tarwin River (4 kms), for boating, paddling and fishing. Slightly further afield is Andersen Inlet (great fishing, paddling, paddle boarding, boating, and shallow waters for very young children), Venus Bay Surf beaches, and Walkerville South bay beach (with boat ramp). Waratah Bay and Wilsons Promontory less than an hour's drive away. And that's just the water sports. The Great Southern Rail Trail is just up the road, at Koonwarra or Leongatha, and has a range of rides with varying degrees of challenge. The Eco Studio itself is completely off grid, built from reclaimed and recycled materials, as part of our commitment to living lightly. There is an outdoor kitchen, and composting toilet, and our home garden (we live on the property too) is often abundant and the fresh organic produce is for sale for our visitors. PLEASE CHECK the description for further details about what is provided and to indicate if you are bringing your pet(s).Cosy and eclectic off-grid Eco Studio (small open plan) on 17 acres only 3 kms from the coast as the crow flies............. you can hear the surf in the quiet of the evening. Nearby are opportunities for many activities, such as cycling, paddling, surfing, fishing. Or don't go anywhere, and just sit outside enjoying the view in the peace and quiet. Wake up in the morning to symphony of bird calls, or listen to the snuffles and grunts of echidnas, wombats, possums and koalas in the evenings. Seasonal fresh produce from our organic home garden is often available for sale. Cook on the outdoor kitchen with barbecue, gas stove and oven. Or stay indoors and use the microwave, kettle, toaster. Close enough to our home for security, but far enough for complete privacy for us all. Up to 2 QUIET fur children welcomed (but not sheep or chook chasers please!). PLEASE CHECK further description of what is provided, and indicate if you are bringing your pet(s). Thanks! :)

In the lower living area is a double sofa bed that can be set up. A double foam mattress is also kept under the double bed for additional guests happy to sleep on the floor. A beautiful space, full of character and everything you could wish for. The garden is magnificent with so much care in the native plantings to provide habitat for the fantastic numbers of birds we saw and heard. We so enjoyed having some peaceful time in this off-grid beauty! Thanks Jo and family! Desley, Andy and Scout

Group trip
My partner, 2 children and our dog, loved our stay at Jo's place. We were very impressed by the studio. It is very well designed and with lots of personal touches that make the place unique. It had everything you need. Very comfy bed and a spacious shower. The studio is set in a beautiful and very well kept garden. Jo was very quick to answer my questions. Venus Bay is only a short drive away. It's our favourite getaway. We love it's pristine beaches.
