Learn more about this land: Nestle on the Pamunkey Indian Reservation also known for Spiritual Healing that overlooks the Pamunkey River. The Pamunkey people have been here for over 10,000 years making this area one of the oldest reservations in the country. We have a small platform sitting right on the water for privacy and beautiful views of the river. You may see Bald Eagles, Grey Herons, Ducks, Geese, River Otters, and so much more. During low tide, the water is pulled back into the main part of the river and this is where you will see the wildlife during this time. There are up to 8 Bald Eagles here at a time and during the Spring to Fall, you will see Osprey hunting for food right in front of you and usually getting chased by the Eagles. What an awesome site to be able to camp and be a part of so many creatures all in their natural habitat. We live right up the hill.  Depending on where your tent is located, you may or may not see our home.  Usually you cannot but want you to be aware.  When you are camping, we respect your space and privacy to the fullest. During the full moon, the water on the campsite will rise and you will need to camp closer to the land.  Also, when the tied is out, you will not be able to launch the canoe or kayak. There is a short path to walk and it is a very short incline.   Please note that hunting season starts in October, and you may hear the noise.Nestle on the Pamunkey Indian Reservation also known for Spiritual Healing that overlooks the Pamunkey River. Fall fishing trip
Tent
I booked this trip for me and a buddy. We had the best time. The location is quiet, and calm. Almost no light pollution and stars were bright. The water was calm and perfect for fishing. We timed it with the tides and caught a ton of catfish. Cooked a couple over the easy to use fire pit. The site was clean when we got there and clean when we left. The geese do get a little active around nightfall but it was still easy to fall asleep. Firewood was provided as promised and worked very well for cooking meals. Bonus points for the forewarning about the tides. Keeping that in mind we didn’t have to move either tent. This was a great trip filled with tons of pretty decent (5-25lb) catfish. Definitely going to go again!

A peaceful p
Tent
Perfect weather for camping at this secluded hidden gem. We pitched 2 large tents with enough room for the picnic table , our folding chairs, and cooking at the fire pit. We enjoyed our stay here with the geese announcing their flight back and forth day and night, lol. Train passed by during daytime and we actually enjoyed watching it go by. We rented the canoe and took turns going down the river. The water was calm and plenty of catfish for lunch and dinner. We saw an otter, bald eagles, and different kinds of birds. Wish we brought our binoculars.. What an awesome experience. The nights were cool but comfortable. Gotta use the shower, it was refreshing. We love that there is also a water faucet nearby when we needed water. The porta potty was nice and clean . I especially love that there is a trash bin for us to use. I like to keep the place nice and tidy. Wish we had stayed one more night. It's a place to calm your mind and be grateful for life and the beauty of nature. Thank you for your hospitality.

Wonderful stay by the river
Tent
What a wonderful few days to relax! Gorgeous views and great stargazing, hardly any light pollution. Fishing was good, caught a few large mouth bass. Very peaceful, I felt very safe and at ease. Allyn was such a great host and was very responsive to my messages and respectful of my privacy. I had a great time! I definitely want to come back.
