Amazing camp spot! Perfect location just a quick bike ride out to two different beaches. One of the best hosts, it really shows that he truly cares about his campers, his birds, and his dogs. Very excited to come back again and see the pups and the treehouse!

Stargazer Tiny Cabin
Super cool farm site near the beach
This place is truly special. Ian was not only a consummate host with a clear passion for his property and vision, he has created spaces here that are unique and really functional. The stargazer cabin was delightful and much better appointed than we expected. The tents he provided for our extra guests were set among the trees and were perfect. We cooked breakfast lunch and dinner on the fire ring which was great. Haven beach just down the road was REALLY good for swimming and hanging out. The evening march of the Guinea hens to supper was a big hit and Ian’s knowledge of and obvious love for the birds was great for the kids. Perhaps the most surprising part was the lack of bugs…in swamp country… in June. Ian keeps the sites treated diligently and it shows. We will absolutely return here and recommend it without reservation to groups big and small.

Stargazer Tiny Cabin
Enchanted Cabin Stay
Ian has a little piece of heaven here beside the Chesapeake Bay. I went for an overnight with my nieces from Richmond and we’re already planning to go again for much longer. The Stargazer Cabin gives you the feel of camping with the luxuries of beds, a kitchen (propane stovetop/kitchen sink/refrigerated cooler), a (composting, very clean) toilet, outdoor sink, and outdoor shower along with solar power lights, usb chargers, wifi, a standup video game, a Bose speaker, and even a projector to watch movies on. The little cabin had everything we needed to cook and clean ourselves up after an amazing day on the beach. The beach, which was less than 1.5 miles from his property is very pristine, and we pretty much had it to ourselves on a Monday and Tuesday. (Bring water shoes if you want to play in the water because the bottom will cut up your feet).
Ian was gracious host and let my nieces help with both of the morning and evening feedings of his chicken, guineas, and turkeys. He told us all about the birds, and also, showed up his new treehouse that he’s working on (wow!) The firewood we got from him was more than enough for a solid fire. And he even let us use his stand up paddle board after we checked out of the cabin.
Ian’s property is the perfect getaway. I can see how fun it would be to bring a big group to camp here. I’d love to try his suspended tents or treehouse some time, but it going to be tough to not want to stay in the Stargazer’s Cabin if it’s available.

Ian was incredibly responsive on short notice, especially with my last-second booking and late arrival. He was understanding and made our stay painless and enjoyable. Staying in the tree tent was quite the experience! I will definitely be back for a third trip.
