Camping with Rizzy the Camel and friends allows guests to experience a unique stay on a private hobby ranch. Wake up and interact with Rizzy the Camel (yes a real dromedary camel), horses, miniature donkeys, Nigerian dwarf goats, Kune Kune pigs, emu’s, peacocks, llama, a variety of birds and a couple of long horn cows. Offering a very peaceful property to reconnect with nature or just relax and catch the sunrise of sunsets. Located 17 miles from downtown Walla Walla, we are a central location to enjoy other activities in our area. Explore the “wine scene” of the award winning wine producers of this region, and enjoy the nationally recognized and diversified culinary tastes that are available. From theaters and museums to biking, hiking, golf, concerts and spa time, Walla Walla offers a little bit of everything wonderful. The Blue Mountains are just east of us, making it a prime destination for winter sports such as snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and more. We’re only 40 miles for an exciting day of skiing at Bluewood Ski Resort, or a beautiful drive through the mountains any time of the year. Palouse Falls State Park is a great 34 mile drive past the Snake River. The Palouse River runs through a seemingly invisible gorge to reveal the 178 foot Palouse Falls. From there, the water current moves swiftly through a winding gorge of columnar basalt, to its southern end at the Snake River. We’re also about 26 miles from the Snake River, and 36 miles to Columbia River if the water is where you would enjoy your day. If getting away from the fast pace of life and being surrounded by God’s beautiful views in the country but still close enough to desired amenities then Camping with Rizzy the Camel and friends is your place. Full Hook-ups with 30 and 50 amp service. Only 2 sites available.

There are no words for how beautiful this place and these people are. They have created something truly special for guests to come experience. Mickey was so kind to give us a tour and introduce us to all the animals, and help us out with our camper. It felt so welcoming and i truly didnt want to leave! I will be coming back again for sure just to visit and hang out with the animals!

We had a wonderful stay at Camelot and felt very welcomed onto the farm. Even before we got home, my children were already asking when we could go back! Mickey greeted us when we arrived and took his time giving us an informative tour of all of the animals. He was willing to answer any questions that we had. We especially loved eating dinner at our campsite while looking out at the cows and horses in the field, petting the miniature donkeys, getting ear kisses from Belle, the llama, and talking to the curious emus. The dogs on the farm were friendly and loved attention from the kids. We were lucky enough to have two baby goats born while we were at the farm!

Mickey and Tawnya’s farm was wonderful! Mickey gave us a tour and introduced us to the Llama, camel, donkeys, pigs and piglets, goats, horses, emus, and French bulldogs. So many wonderful animals on a private, quiet spot. We were able to visit Palouse Falls and have great pizza in Waitsburg. Highly recommended!

What a great place to stay! Very clean property and camping areas. The hosts are very kind & friendly. Our group loved interacting with the animals and had a great time. Only about 20 minutes from the Walla Walla wineries. The stars at night are incredible. What a great place & experience!

“Best trip ever”

That’s a quote from my wife for whom this was a surprise trip. We stayed at Camelot and friends for a night while on the way east. It looked like it would be an amazing adventure with the menagerie that Mickey described on Hipcamp, but he made it even better in person. Mickey met us on arrival and gave us a tour, introducing us to all of the animals. There were so many adorable piglets, Nigerian dwarf goats and donkeys you just have to see to believe. The Emus were so impressive as were all the doves and homing pigeons, horses, Texas longhorns, pea fowl and chicks, chickens and turkeys, a sheep, a llama and even a camel! Oh, and a pile of Frenchies rounded things out. He was a wealth of information about animal husbandry and a pretty good example of human husbandry himself, if that’s a thing. He is just an all around good guy, doing good things as much as he can. The campsite was level, had water and power and there was no road noise during sleeping hours. But remember, this is a farm with all of the requisite animal noises- cooing doves, squealing piglets, braying donkeys and crowing roosters. I loved it! Don’t hesitate. This is practically a destination camp all by itself. Totally worth it and then some.
