It was such a welcoming treat to step into a cozy platform tent here; I had no idea how cool it would be, and on a toasty night where I expected to be out in my own tiny little tent… this was luxury! The hosts were super welcoming and easy to communicate with, even when my plans changed. I loved the setup (chairs, bed, table) and how it was configured. The wood stove was key!

1 night at Frog Pond Cottage

This cabin was well situated as a base camp for our MTB adventures in the area. It was a quiet neighborhood and the dogs had a great time. Close to town so we could get food when we didn’t want to cook but we had everything there we needed for when we felt like staying in. We will definitely be back!

Me and my family really enjoyed our stay here in a tent, the only thing that we felt could be improved is more signs, it was very difficult for us to find it, other than that we really enjoyed our stay it was the most beautiful view, we had a chance to go walk through all the campsites and we loved every one of them I would recommend campsite 1, 3, and 5 out of all of them. He also provided a lot of wood which helped a lot! We also brought our 2 dogs and they had a blast! 10/10 would recommend and will be returning.😁

Weekend Trip to Camp River Run

My wife and I had an amazing stay on Marks land. It was relaxing, well set up, spacious, and close to so many great places. Just a 20 minute drive to Leavenworth and a couple miles from fish lake and lake Wenatchee. We enjoyed relaxing by the firepit, hiking in Leavenworth, and fishing at fish lake. We'll be coming back!

Weekend Trip to Wild WA Coast Lookout ($75 - $125)

Had a quiet, private stay and enjoyed beautiful weather. Firewood had been left at the site, and soap by the sink was a nice touch! Be prepared for a steep but gorgeous walk down to the Sacred Lowlands and beach.

Weekend Trip to Valhalla Tree Farm

We had such a great time the first time we stayed in the A Frame, that we booked it again. Our girls trip was perfect. The sleeping pads are plenty comfy, and the view is stunning. We brought our own water, but the kitchen had pots and pans already. My friend drove her minivan up the hill, which I was a little surprised, but she made it. I don't recommend it though. 4WD is best. Thank You again Shannon for another great stay.

Weekend Trip to Frog Pond Cottage

This was a fun and cozy location. I doubt it would really comfortably sleep more than six. We had five people and had plenty of room. It’s a unique and fun property close to Olympic National Park. We would return for longer once the shower is up and running. (Looks like it’s in progress!) We got a little lost arriving which was completely our fault, and Nick was quick to respond and help us out.

Extraordinary views and delicious produce! This was a really special place to camp, enjoy the night sky and the expanse of the Washington landscape. Paulette was an amazing host and shared much about the ranch and its workings on the farm tour. Plus amazing pickles and meat from the farm store!

Weekend Trip to The Lookout

Mid Mountain is the lowest of the campsites on the hill and has great views of Clear Lake. I enjoyed watching spring storms move through the area as part of my March visit. The site is flat with a lovely deck, and a large fire pit. I will definitely be returning! Each of the sites are laid out to allow privacy from each other, and I’m sure the site will continue to impress as the tree cover grows up around them. The road to reach the sites is dirt and steep - but well packed and maintained. If you have a larger vehicle or trailer you’ll need to use the corners of the switchbacks to turn around. I’d plan to arrive before dark on your first visit. Be prepared for a hike uphill if you are planning to use the port-a-potty provided. It was clean and well maintained, with a built in cardio plan to get there. :)

Guemes North Homestead

The Guemes North Homestead is ten acres of gorgeous tall trees, clearings, homestead buildings, pond, trails, renewable energy gear, and more, set in the middle of the north end of Guemes Island (a 7-minute ferry from downtown Anacortes), at the end of a 1/3-mile dead-end driveway. It has nature, quiet, and privacy. It includes a 30-year-old orchard, a developed garden with fine soil, a pond with rope swing and waterslide, several solar and wind energy systems, and multiple buildings. It's about a mile in two directions from the Pacific Ocean beach, and is surrounded by wooded acreage that is criss-crossed with trails and friendly neighbors, on an island with about 700 year-round residents and an active weekend/summer population. Homestead owner Ian Woofenden is an expert in renewable energy systems. He's lived off-grid at the homestead for 40-plus years, where he raised his large family and managed several small businesses. He now consults, sells, writes, and teaches about renewable energy in the U.S. and in Central America. If your idea of a great getaway is to help out and do physical work, just ask Ian. There's always something going on at the homestead, including garden and orchard work, trail building, wood cutting, construction, sawmilling, and more. Ian built this place, and has a broad knowledge of lots of homestead and sustainability topics. He loves sharing his knowledge and experience with guest, students, and interns. Quick reminders: NOT a party spot. The homestead goes silent from 9 PM to 9 AM. Not a place for lots of car trips in and out. Bikers can ask for 25% discount code (or use bike listing). We are a tree farm at the moment. However, we are diligently working towards farming flowers, vegetables, and herbs that may be purchased. We have trails throughout the farm with one that leads to state land. You can definitely get your hike on and work up an appetite. Our sites are unique as each one is a different layout from the other. They are hand-cut into the forest so you will be tucked away from others, but you will have an opportunity to meet others if you so choose, when we fire up the large community campfire. We are four-legged family member friendly with the stipulation that your animal family member not be too terribly talkative and loud. Also, it is imperative that your animal family member be restrained when hiking on all parts of the farm. While at your site, you may allow them to be unrestrained as long as they stay on your site only. We are a NON-SMOKING facility. We do not allow firecrackers ever. We have a tree farm we steward and firecrackers are a fire risk. So please no firecrackers on the property.

Rural Ranch Getaway

Relax and enjoy the privacy and beauty of our 10-acre secluded property. The property is a mowed, open grass field surrounded by forest. Camp sites have a view of an eagle's nest (two young eagles are in the nest right now!) and our six-hole frisbee golf course. Frisbees are provided and only campers and the residents use the course. Camp sites include a raised 12' by 12' tent pad, picnic table, space for one or two vehicles that can be parked near the forest or in the field, and use of a porta-potty (cleaned daily and pumped out weekly). Potable water is located from a spigot in the pasture. Choose from three camp sites: Eagle Eyrie, Owl Hollow, or Hawk Nest. Sites are roomy enough for RV campers and ideal for a private Pacific Northwest getaway. Our property is in close proximity to downtown Bellingham and downtown Ferndale (only 5 miles north or south) and all the delicious restaurants, live music, and parks they provide; but is nestled into a pastoral refuge. Seattle is 1.5 hours south and Vancouver is 1 hour north. Property owners, Kim & Jeff, live onsite if you have questions or need anything; however the camp sites are tucked away such that the camping area is entirely separate. Property is accessed down a long gravel driveway on the east side of Rural Avenue, just across the street from a log cabin/house. The driveway extends past a large barn. Keep right on the driveway at the "Y".

Welcome to The Landing at Index - located on the South Fork Skykomish River, in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2. With 16 acres of beautiful, private woods and breathtaking views of Mt. Index, this is a wonderful getaway to kick back and relax after your day of adventures, or just to escape the city rush. The campsites are at the bottom of a long logging road so an SUV or AWD vehicle are preferable , especially during the wetter seasons. When the property was logged approximately 100 years ago they scooped out gravel from the river to make their roads in the area thus creating the back eddy pool along the beach. A rather peaceful setting, including the rushing sound of the river and the occasional whistle of a train. You will feel refreshed and rejuvenated after you stay at The Landing. The Arboretum at Bear Canyon West

This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. No tents, please. Also we have NO public restrooms. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 10 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs above the shop, right on the property. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. Every site has a water spigot (use a pressure regulator if you want to hook up). No restrooms or sewer hookups. Garbage disposal site available Memorial Day to Labor Day.
