The place has been farmland since about 1926. It became a family horse property with three pastures and now is a small lavender and blackberry farm. While it is limited to two RV sites, there may be farm visitors walking arond the area. Tall cedars and fir remain in the back of the property and provide for a forest experience. It is not a commercial campground. We are now turning it into a small lavender farm. About half of th original pasture is now covered in black ground mat and 3,000 newly planted lavender. Learn more about this land: One acre pasture for dry RV camping (no restroom facilities). There is a potable water/hose bib and an auxilliary 110 volt 15 amp AC connection via extension cord from barn. You should rely primarily on your own power. Walking trails are in cedar trees and on hill across 10 acres with flower fields and blackberry "farm". Free blackberry picking in season (August and Early September). Deer, racoons, foxes, bald eagles and occassional coyote on site. Keep food and trash secure. No toilet or sewer available. There is one portable "porta potty" type facility. Dry camping only, no camp fires allowed due to fire conditions. Pack out own trash/garbage. No Pets allowed. Only visible neighbors are three horses on neigboring 10 acre farm property. There is Wi-Fi. Beach access has been closed.

Such a Special Place!
7 m travel trailer · With kids ·
Our family had the pleasure of staying on Astrid and Donald’s farm in a very spacious spot for about three weeks in our 25’ travel trailer. We had travelled over 1100 miles and stayed at many campsites in the weeks before discovering this gem. This camping spot was our favorite of them all (and we kept choosing to extend our stay here instead of moving anywhere else.) It’s just so peaceful. Between the tall cedars, the neighboring horses in your “back yard,” and the rows of lavender and rustic farm setting in front; it was a complete getaway for us from our everyday life. Our 4 year-old absolutely loved exploring the property, especially the small forested trails that could be found and the fun playground equipment nearby. The faint smell of lavender in the air was nice, and Astrid’s adorable lavender shop was really fun to tour. We loved watching the deer come through every evening while hanging out around our propane fire pit. All in all, it was one of our favorite places to camp out of the many, many we’ve ever stayed at. If you are forced to work a little like I did, we had cell service and starlink service just fine. The owners also helped us have 110v power at one point when our battery died, and even let us fill up our freshwater tank one time too. (There’s a $5 dump station at Penrose state campground about 20 minutes up the road.) Absolutely cannot wait to come back!

It was a quiet peaceful place, and comfortable to camp. I loved smelling the lavender fields throughout the day and night, and walking around the property with my little kids. Don was very welcoming.

Car/ tent camping was absolutely amazing. The area is very peaceful and serene, you’re close enough to town if you need to run to the store for any forgotten items.

Relaxing • Quiet • Great Kayaking!

Beautiful shaded meadow with relaxing scent of lavender, friendly horses and very quiet. Host is committed to sustainability and has put a lot of love into working the land without chemicals (win!). The pasture where we camped is well maintained, has 2 picnic table/benches, water hose, electrical outlet (bring your electric tea kettle!). The porta-potty was an unexpected bonus. Donald was was very quick to respond to all communications, gave us a tour and even provided kayaks/life jackets/paddles. The kayaking was amazing, we saw seals! Donald is super friendly and even has some essentials stocked should you have forgotten sunscreen, etc. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this spot to other HipCampers!
