Off-leash friendly
Pets can be off-leash at some sites.
Grassy area with trees on the bank of the Yakima River. Quiet and peaceful. Small campfires are allowed all year in designated spots. There are mosquitos so be prepared for that! During the summer months, the Yakima River is perfect for kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, float tubes, or just swimming. Catfish and bass are the main fish here and fishing is good most of the time.

Quiet and Relaxing Oasis
Roger was a great host. Very friendly, and I felt comfortable staying at this site as a female traveling solo. The view of the river is amazing. There isn't a good place to get in the water because it's boggy at the shore, but there are fish, frogs, and birds, and it is a peaceful atmosphere. No tent pads, so tents get set up on the grass. It was dewy in the morning, so things had to dry out before I could pack up. A nice improvement would be to have stairs cut into the short hillside going down to the tent area. There is play equipment for kids, picnic tables, shade, and tons of flat grassy area. There are bugs, but as someone else said, mostly dragonflies and harmless gnats - not a mosquito or fly in sight during my visit. The cost was higher than I had hoped to pay for a tent site with no shower, so that will weigh in to my decision to stay again. Overall good stay. I slept well!

Great site. Clean. Bugs, but mostly dragonflies and gnats. Bathroom is nice and new. River is nice and can stand up in it. Trees make good shade in afternoon.

Perfect Stay
What an absolute find!!! I was shooting from the hip as it were in picking a spot for the night as I was visiting areas I’d never been to before. Roger’s place was perfect! He was super communicative and the area was perfect. Right on the river with lovely views of the water, the sunset, and some beaver and fish watching. The location was clear and quiet with clean amenities that you don’t always get when camping. Would absolutely visit again!

Pirate River
Very relaxing and good area to be right by the river. That being said, there is some bugs flying around. But that should prevent you from going here. Just buy some spray or the mosquito candles to defer them away. Very new location, and he’s got a lot on the works for this area. Can’t beat the view, public bathroom onsite, hospitality he has, and the relaxation this location has to offer. Really enjoyed our stay here! Thank you!
