Welcome This seven acre shaded retreat has privacy, water, an indoor toilet and 2 trout streams nearby. This is the unique former paddock and pastures of my beloved horse, Miss Rosie. After her passing I wanted to share this quiet peaceful place where all can enjoy, relax, breathe in all that Mother Nature has to offer. Plus a huge colorful flower garden for all to wander and relax with a gazebo, perfect for a morning beverage and place to watch the many Baltimore orioles, hummingbirds,( and feeders) and butterflies. All around are views of woods and agricultural land and a class a stream is nearby. Stargazing is also a must. Our country roads are perfect for cycling and I can accommodate larger groups The foodie scene in Viroqua is excellent, lots of outdoor activities in Vernon countyPitch your tent on a level shaded open space by the 12x12 gravel fire space or anywhere on the property . A 12x12 outdoor mat is also provided. Access to large metal fire ring with a moveable cooking rack, water, indoor restroom, electricity, a table top camp kitchen is steps away. The garden is right out your door with motion solar lights. Privacy camping
Tent
The hosts both human and four legged are welcoming and friendly and take that extra time to ensure your visit is just perfect. If you value peace and tranquility this is the place for you. On clear nights we sat under the stars gazing into the sky and listening to the wildlife in the nearby fields. Potable water is available which made it extremely convenient for us along with firewood for sale right on site. It was great to be the only campers, and the campsite felt very quiet and private even with the main house just up the hill.  Because it’s in a valley, the grass is always dewy which the host did warn us about upon arrival.  Also, a note to future campers that fire rings (which the host said would be available next season) don't have grills, so bring our own, like a tripod, for cooking over a fire if you plan to.

We found a lovely level spot to set our tent by the fire ring with views of the apple trees where deer collect throughout the day. Area was very quiet and private. Carol could not have been kinder or accommodating. She was full of information about the attractions in town and clearly wanted us to enjoy our visit. We will definitely be back!

The best spot in Wisconsin
Tent
This was by far anw away my best experience with Hipcamp! Rosies retreat is beautiful and Carol the host is an absolute gem! Shes incredibly knowledgeable about the area and a joy to talk to, and the “in case you forgot” boxes came in handy more than once when we inevitable didmt have a paper towel, kettle or some other such thing. Cant reccomend this place enough, if you are staying in Viroqua stay with Carol at rosies retreat

12 ft campervan
Such a great stay at Rosie’s Retreat! Camping space was quiet, comfortable and surrounded by a beautiful garden. Bathroom access was also very clean and convenient. Definitely recommend for a quiet getaway in the beautiful Wisconsin Driftless where you are just minutes away from so many wonderful things to do and see! Great communication from the host too. 10 out of 10!
