Welcome This seven acre shaded retreat has privacy, water, an indoor toilet and 2 trout streams nearby. This is the unique former paddock and pastures of my beloved horse, Miss Rosie. After her passing I wanted to share this quiet peaceful place where all can enjoy, relax, breathe in all that Mother Nature has to offer. Plus a huge colorful flower garden for all to wander and relax with a gazebo, perfect for a morning beverage and place to watch the many Baltimore orioles, hummingbirds,( and feeders) and butterflies. All around are views of woods and agricultural land and a class a stream is nearby. Stargazing is also a must. Our country roads are perfect for cycling and I can accommodate larger groups The foodie scene in Viroqua is excellent, lots of outdoor activities in Vernon countyPitch your tent on a fixed 12x12 level shaded pad covered by an outdoor rug or anywhere on the property. Access to water, indoor restroom, electricity, a table top camp kitchen is steps away. The garden is right out your door with motion solar lights The quonset hut is for storage, it’s perfect for bikes The run in shed has electric lights / outlets to you recharge your electronics .The run in shed also has a pulley system solar shower stall (your solar), heavily padded flooring, a bench, mirror, and a large storage rack with extra supplies and empty bins for your use. Plus a composting toilet and the content which you take when leaving as well as garbage per Hipcamp policy Families with children are encouraged- Its a perfect basecamp for fishing too, two fabulous streams right near by Access for Retreat guests include the following: An indoor toilet with electric charging access and a microwave in the shop. The shop is 200 feet from the cabin/parking area. The cabin is only used for storage A large gravel pad for a large campfire and a small portable fire pit with cover Check on availability of wood. Privacy camping
The hosts both human and four legged are welcoming and friendly and take that extra time to ensure your visit is just perfect. If you value peace and tranquility this is the place for you. On clear nights we sat under the stars gazing into the sky and listening to the wildlife in the nearby fields. Potable water is available which made it extremely convenient for us along with firewood for sale right on site. It was great to be the only campers, and the campsite felt very quiet and private even with the main house just up the hill.  Because it’s in a valley, the grass is always dewy which the host did warn us about upon arrival.  Also, a note to future campers that fire rings (which the host said would be available next season) don't have grills, so bring our own, like a tripod, for cooking over a fire if you plan to.

Deceived
I had multiple Communications with the host before my trip. I told her I would barely bringing a cargo trailer and my motorcycle. I asked if the road was suitable for the motorcycle and the property for parking the trailer. She reassured me multiple times that I would have no problem. When I turned under her Road it was a multiple mile gravel road with severe inclines and declines in the road was in poor condition. When I arrived at her place I would have had to back down to the site and she really didn't want me to do that. I would not have been able to take my motorcycle out because I would not have been able to maneuver the Gravel Road safely. She was bossy and controlling. I ended up having to leave 10 minutes later and find a hotel for the night and then new arrangements for my week trip. Very disappointed as I never got any money returned. I do believe she told me everything would be fine put the motorcycle. I think she did this just so she could get my money knowing I would not be able to get a refund. Very disappointed. I feel I was to see just so she could collect the money from me

We found a lovely level spot to set our tent by the fire ring with views of the apple trees where deer collect throughout the day. Area was very quiet and private. Carol could not have been kinder or accommodating. She was full of information about the attractions in town and clearly wanted us to enjoy our visit. We will definitely be back!

The best spot in Wisconsin
This was by far anw away my best experience with Hipcamp! Rosies retreat is beautiful and Carol the host is an absolute gem! Shes incredibly knowledgeable about the area and a joy to talk to, and the “in case you forgot” boxes came in handy more than once when we inevitable didmt have a paper towel, kettle or some other such thing. Cant reccomend this place enough, if you are staying in Viroqua stay with Carol at rosies retreat
