13,476 acres of wilderness, the country’s grandest river, ten state champion trees, and two national champions, 20 miles of hiking trails, and one of the southeast’s most beautiful disc golf courses.
Are you sold on Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park Campground? Because we could go on and on about this place—the birds, the wildlife, the hospitality, the tupelo Swamp, the bluffs overlooking the river. The beautiful, modern campground gives you access to all of this, plus it’s only 13 miles from Memphis!
We live in Memphis and pack up our Airstream and head to Shelby Forest for a quick weekend trip. Most sites offer trees for shade and space between other campers. We always choose a site on the outer side of the campground loop for additional privacy. Lots of things to do including hiking, biking, fishing and canoeing. A short drive to The Mississippi River to see incredible sunsets. There is a small general store right outside the park if you forget anything. They have live bluegrass and steaks on Friday night and also serve breakfast and lunch.
