I have only been the "custodian" of this lovely slice of Texas Hill Country for the past five years. Prior to that the property had been unoccupied for many years except for the wildlife that continue to call this place home. Several decades ago, before the land was subdivided, a huge earthen pond was constructed, and it, as well as a vast number of trees and other vegetation, helps create a wonderful habitat for us, our guests, and all creatures large and small.
Round Mountain Ranch offers a serene escape with its well-maintained property and thoughtfully restored vintage trailers. Michael, the host, has ensured that the accommodations are both clean and cozy, featuring all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Guests appreciate the private, peaceful atmosphere and the added bonus of trails for leisurely walks. A few reviews mention lukewarm showers, but overall, visitors rave about the attention to detail and the relaxing environment.
Michael has a dream setup on his property that's just a short drive NW of Austin. The Airstream was the perfect retreat for us after spending the day amongst the bustling Formula 1 race crowd. Everything about our stay felt magical and special, especially the on-site "hiking" trail built into the property that led to multiple surprise features -- mini disc golf course, horseshoe pits, and multiple secluded quiet seating areas!
Adorable...the bed is the size of a small full I think, so you are camping for sure. But the whole experience was adorable. My husband loves nature and is wanting to know when we are going back. Michael was great. Check in and out relaxed and easy
Bring your own staples but dishes are there...great get away.
We loved this relaxing getaway so much. We had a great time at Michael’s clean and cozy airstream and exploring his property on the various trails winding through the woods. We sat and read, and listened to the birds chirping, and when it was time to go inside we watched Netflix from the bed. The whole property is very well kept and clean, I even wondered if the trails were swept before we got there, seriously!
Great spot! The trailer was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. There is even a microwave and toaster. A note for coffee drinkers- the coffeemaker is small- 4 cups.
Bring your own firewood and charcoal and enjoy the fire pit and grill! Michael was super responsive and the grounds were cool. Nice trail around it with a horseshoe pit. Lots of trees.
Great experience, it was a fantastic place to stay in a beautiful location. We had the best time, the airstream was so clean and peaceful!
