Site 1 - Olamentko Sites
in Chanslor Ranch, CaliforniaOlamentko and our hosts at Chanslor Ranch were great, I wish we had stayed longer. The place was easy to find and the office was right there on the right. Bathrooms and firewood is just behind that. We all signed in with a friendly camp host. We stayed at site 1 which was not too far from the main path and also pretty sheltered with trees which kept us a little warmer as it was pretty windy and cold that day. Everything was a short walk away; the fishing pond, Salmon Creek (there's apparently warm springs there, however it was too cold for me to check how warm), the beach, the bathrooms, horses, cattle, llamas, and the fluffiest puppy ever. We had small children with us so we opted to drive to the beach since we would need to cross the highway. Would love to go back when it's warmer to enjoy the water there. The ranch does seem pretty busy with campers so I don't know if I would suggest it if you want to be alone, but lots to do there if you are going in a big group.

Red Rock Lake Private Camping

(Dispersed site)
We spent Mother's Day weekend out here and it was a nice retreat from everything with lots to do. Waking up to amazing views of the beautiful olive farm and reservoir, my family really enjoyed how private this experience was. Derek was a great host and really took care of a lot of things on site prior to our visit so we would have everything and anything we needed. My daughter and dog both had a blast swimming and running around, while my husband and I enjoyed fishing off the pier as there is a lot of bass in the water. It rained both nights we were there which made the gravel a bit messy to drive on, but rain isn't common, and that was probably the only hiccup of the weekend. We really had a great time here and can't wait to do it again.
Jamie hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.

Desert Sunsets, Campfires and UFO's
in White feather ranch, ArizonaNice quick camp and sweet dogs.
Angela is friendly and made sure we were able to find her place. Her dogs are sweet and curious. The bathroom is an open pit toilet (there is no door so one of the pups did surprise me while in the middle of using it), I actually prefer it to most pit toilets as you don't have the trapped smell and you can have a nice view. However, beware the exposed nail ends in the walls. The area is remote, so make sure to bring what you need when you go because there were no stores around when we stayed. Sunset was beautiful and the stars were amazing. We had hoped for UFOs but instead got a shooting star, I'm not mad about it. Great spot for a quick camp while on a road trip.
