(Dispersed site)
A beautiful piece of land with 2 campsites that are spaced out, overlooking a valley. I had a calm night, I didn't need anything more, although it's important to note that although there's potable running water in the kitchen hut, there was no bathroom at the time of my visit. The host was very responsive. I would totally come back when visiting the Douro valley or going to GerĂȘs!

Caboose
in All Welcome Campground and Caboose, CaliforniaWhat a fantastic Hipcamp! Such a unique and lovely place to stay in the summer. The outside bath tub and shower are fantastic and the hosts are the best: thank you so much, it was perfect!
Past trip
in Glorious, private, nature retreat in Santa Barbara!, CaliforniaPierre A.has mixed feelings towards this listing.
We had a relaxing time at the yurt. However, things weren't as magical as expected: only one speaker out of the 4 of the former surround sound system was functional, the hot tub was out of service, there was mold in the water boiler, bird droppings on the outdoor hammocks and seats, and the shower temperature wasn't possible to keep constant, oscillating between burning and cold. Oh, and the piano on the photo is actually destroyed, but it looks like a cool piece of art! I have no doubt the host is a great person who doesn't mean bad. We probably were out of luck, visiting at a wrong time. We would have been totally fine with this less-than-perfect glamping experience if the pricing wasn't suggesting such high level of expectation. Thank you Jennifer for sharing your land regardless!

in Owl Creek Cabin Mountain Getaway, OregonThis little cabin in the woods was exactly what I wanted. I was able to achieve the peace of mind that I was looking for. It has all the basic amenities needed to be comfortable and in total seclusion for a few days: heater, water boiler, microwave, propane BBQ, hot shower, composting toilet. The mattress is very, very good (memory foam!). There is wifi and a large desk facing the window, which makes it best suited if you're a writer, an artist or are looking to do some work inspired by the serenity of nature. Lastly, Kit is the author of a podcast called True Mysteries of the Pacific Northwestâcheck it out!

Quail Rock Retreat Boulders Hot Tub
in Quail Rock Retreat, CaliforniaUnforgettable
The house is remote but the sandy road is accessible by any car. The interior is highly stylish as well as practicable and very comfortable. The property is surrounded by stunning desert views, glorious sunsets, stars, typical rocks, fauna and flora. We couldn't have hoped for a better place to stay in Joshua Tree. Everything was perfectâunforgettable experience. Thanks so much Megan for sharing!
Site 1 - Irish Creek Camp
in Irish Creek Ranch, CaliforniaWe had a great time at Irish Creek Ranch! I'd say we had two small remarks: we thought firewood was provided for free but it was $10 a bundle, to buy from the neighbors who live on the property, right next to the campsite (but far enough that we still felt private). Secondly, the water had a strong chemical taste, unfortunately, so we recommend you bring your own. Otherwise, hosts are lovely and the area is beautiful!

Valley View Farm Campsite - #3
in Valley View Farm, CaliforniaFantastic campsite
Site 3 is on the hilltop and it's absolutely fabulous. Complete privacy, wonderful trees, a fire pit with chairs and a lovely swing. Oh, and that view on the ocean in the distance... We witnessed a spectacular sunset.

Rogue Retreat 2 beds/kitchen (#14)
in Rogue River Retreat, OregonCharming!
I had such a wonderful stay at Rogue River, I didn't expect such comfort and charm! I was surprised a motel could be a fit on Hipcamp but this one is such a peaceful and lovely nest close to nature that I think it's greatly justified. The river flows right there. My room had a huge bath tub, a kitchen with everything needed to cook, and I had an excellent sleep on that bed. I highly recommend staying here for a great night's sleep during your travels.
The Otter Rock Surf Yurt
in The Otter Rock Surf Yurt, OregonCharming
The yurt is truly a slice of heaven. It is spacious and beautifully decorated, stocked with everything besides towels and bedding sheets as stated in the description, but I love my sleeping bag, so, I didn't mind at all. The beach is a 2 minute walk away. The sound of the waves are totally omnipresent since a yurt lets the sound pass better than hard walls. I would love to come back in the summer, use the outside deck and actually go surfing!
