Make your way to the Drinks Canyon Camping Area and you’ll find yourself chilling out on the banks of the Colorado River and gaping at the epic red rock gorges.

A six-mile drive from the junction of U.S. Highway 191 and Utah Highway 128, these semi-primitive camping grounds provide you with some well-deserved solace out in the sprawling desert. Make sure to stop by the payment station at the middle of the three entrances.

Beautiful camping area alongside the Colorado river on the southern side of Arches National Park. There are some great hikes back here including Negro Bill Canyon which takes you to Morning Glory Bridge and bouldering at the Big Bend Bouldering Area.

Camping here is beautiful and right on the river! There isn't any shade so expect it to be HOT during the summer. We were there in August and while it was sweltering mid day, it was actually pretty breezy at night. You are very close to the road so you can see headlights and hear cars as they pass. There is a toilet but take a big breath before you venture in... it's ripe after being in the Moab sun all day. All in all, beautiful and super accessible. I would absolutely camp here again!

This camp or the other ones along the Colorado, are a nice alternative if you don't have a reservation to camp in Arches. They are all similar and FCFS, which will give you a great chance to snag a spot. Fire rings don't have grates at this campground though, so we ended up using the next camp's common BBQ area. Also, there is no water here but there is drinkable water and nice bathrooms at Lions Park, 3 miles away West, next to the bridge!
