The reservation-accepting Mazama campground has around 200 forest enclaved sites open June through September with running water, flush toilets, bear lockers, picnic tables, fire rings and a few RV hookups.

Rim Village (where you can get up close with Crater Lake’s pure watery bewitchment) is a scenic 7 mile drive from the camp. Mazama also features a walk-in group campsite for hikers/bikers and washer/dryer facilities.

Busiest campground in the park, but also really the only major place to camp if you aren't going into the backcountry

Get up early for a sunrise like the person in the picture. 5/7 will not regret.

It’s cold at this elevation! Bears are common.

It says on here that dogs are not allowed, but they definitely are. We had our dogs and saw many other campgrounds with dogs as well.

Busy but they have the nicest bathrooms! Which to me says a lot about how well kept they keep the campground.

Rolled in to Mazama campground without reservations and grabbed a great spot. Check in early. All sites are first come first serve. You can make a reservation but you pick your site based on a color designation so early arrivers get their pick. I have yet to see a spot I wouldn't be happy to camp in. Our site is enormous but even the small sites are spacious with lots of pine trees separating each camp site. Big plus - the bathrooms are flush toilets and super clean. I read that bugs during the summer are bad and that review is accurate. Bring LOTS of bug spray. Only bummer is the showers are closed due to water restrictions at the moment but we'll make due with a pot of hot water at our site. Overall - 5 stars and Pets Are Allowed.

Can't beat the location! The campground is nothing special, but well-maintained and easily accessible. We arrived early on a Thursday and had a few choices of sites, but it quickly filled up. Lots of mosquitos!

Crater Lake is a must-see, spectacular 7,700 year old sunken caldera, now lake. A jewel of the park's system. Campground is large, well-run, but almost always packed. The weekend we were there was no exception...you'll always have neighbors. But people were quiet, and respectful. Even with reservation, you pick your spot on first come, first serve basis.

Glad I could enter campsite at 6p (Aug) but if you want to get away, get a backcountry permit. Expect a lot of RV's + families. Camping sites near the entrance of the park with a solid restaurant, Annie's, that provided a good breakfast to start off my 2nd day

Even with a rezie, the spots are assigned upon arrival, so make it there early if you want to get a good site. We were in loop G and the sites were spacious. The mosquitos are relentless! Free showers in loop F and a restaurant.....

The camp store at Mazama Village is very well stocked, which is a good thing since the nearest grocery store is nearly an hour away..
