La Cascina is a small property on a hill surrounded by trees and bushland. There are two main camping areas which would suite tent and small to medium van/car camping. There is access to neighbouring bushland with nice short walks available in the area. Only 20 minutes by car to Newcastle CBD, 10 minutes by car to Redhead Beach and 5 minutes by car to Lake Macquarie. La Cascina is a great spot to stop overnight on a road trip or to get away for the weekend to relax. We have no toilets so please bring your own. The access to the property is a steep sealed driveway. Site 1 is an open site with plenty of shade. The area is flat. More suited to larger camping setups. This site is less private. There is vision of the neighbouring property and an overflow campsite 50 meters away. Site 2 is a more uneven surface area which is better for smaller vans and tents. Redhead Beach is the closest dog beach 10 minutes by car. Croudace Bay is a dog park on the lake which is 5 minutes by car. This is a family owned acreage that brings the best parts of environmental living with the benefits of being close to the coast and a city. A very long time ago it was the site of a quarry. The nature has returned and we are left with a beautiful forested acreage.

Hi Hipcampers! Please read to the end, including property rules, before booking. Thank you :) If you need to take a break from the hustle and bustle of civilisation this is the place for you! Our little valley is located 90 minutes from either Sydney or Newcastle, but feels a million miles away. We are nestled in the middle of lush rainforest, at the meeting of two ever flowing creeks. The Great North Walk is literally on our doorstep, and a lovely 2.5 hour walk loops around the property through the surrounding National Park. We have 2 paddocks available for campers to enjoy, as well as our "TajMaPoo" comprised of 5 compost toilets and 5 showers (4 hot, 1 cold). We also have a large rustic shelter with lounges which acts as a wonderful communal gathering space. We absolutely love sharing this piece of paradise with any nature lovers who are respectful and kind to this pristine environment we are lucky to call home. * It does not matter which paddock you book ('main' or 'quiet'), price is the same and we are happy for you to camp in whichever one you prefer when you get here. By booking you agree to adhere to the following rules: - PEACE & QUIET: Please absolutely no loud parties, no amplified music past 9pm, and no excessive drinking. The atmosphere we like to cultivate here is one of quiet enjoyment of nature and community :) - LEAVE NO TRACE: anything you bring in you must bring out. This includes all rubbish, which must be taken home or to a public bin, but NEVER placed in any of the bins along our road - DRIVE SLOW on the road in and out of the property, taking extra caution around horses and any pedestrians or cyclists during the day, and wildlife at night. - TOILET ETIQUETTE: please treat the toilets/showers with care and respect. If you make a mess clean it up, and leave the space ready for the next person to relax and enjoy their poo with a view :) - DOGS: All dogs must be friendly (to people/strangers, children and other dogs). Dogs must remain in owners eye-sight and under their control at all times. All poos in open grassy areas must be picked up. And super important - please ensure all dogs are treated for ticks, as they can be lethal for our beloved canines. - FIRES: only in above ground receptacles that do not affect the grass. There are two communal fire circles already set up in the main paddock, which you are welcome to use. Please do not leave any metal or rubbish in communal fires. BYO firewood.

Canoelands Valley Camping is an easy-to-access camping area with magnificent views through the National Park Valley. With only two allocated camping/van zones enjoy the privacy and access to walk around the 40 acres. Located 1.15 hrs from Sydney CBD this is an ideal place for a quick weekend getaway for keen hikers, mountain bikers and nature enthusiasts. Surrounded by the Marramarra National Park you have a short drive to access the Canoelands Ridge Trail (17kms), Duckponds Ridge Trail, Marrarra Ridge to Smugglers Point Ridge Trail. We are a short drive to dine at Wiseman Ferry, and only 11 minutes from the local Woolworths. Or enjoy a beautiful walk at Fagan Park in Galston. Your camping/van area is supplied with red/yellow bins, and camping toilet is provided. Dogs allowed but please let me know first. They will need to be unleash all the time and well behaved. Please pick up after them and also they must be vaccinated. A campfire during permitted times is allowed but only in the fire pits. There is loads of dried kindling and small logs around the property otherwise please bring your own. All Sites have fire pits. Beautiful spot to relax, with loads of wildlife and bird watching. Please use bins supplied and leave no trace. * There are 4 allocated camp sites. Two are easy(2WD & Vans/trailers) access and have the direct view through the valley. Two require high wheel clearance vehicles (just small hill to drive up with some rocks), these are more private sites(cannot see the other campers) still with lovely views. Not suitable for loud partying. The state forest is a short 10min drive away for bush walking, mountain biking and 4 wheel driving. Beach is 40 min drive away. We are located close to the Central Coast and Newcastle. (In Cooranbong ) Our camp sites have access to three eco toilets and only one shared shower, rubbish facilities and drinking water. (Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months. We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area. FRIENDLY PETS welcome. Small kitchen with microwave dishwasher and cook top and fridge may be used . Please just clean up any mess you make. For the next guest All cleaning products under sink. WE HAVE 2 DOGS that are people friendly., who love to meet new fury friends , they do have the run of our property . As our property has a lot of maintenance lawns /gardens ; we may use mowers blowers etc , we will possibly maintain between 10 am to 2 pm If needed.

Set in the splendour of rural Martinsville, backing onto both the Watagan and NSW State Forests, it is a combination of grassland and bush. The whole property is very private, peaceful, picturesque and also a Wildlife Refuge. It is home to a resident mob of wallabies, fallow deer, numerous amphibians, native birds, flora and fauna. The billabong affords ample opportunities to view and enjoy a nature experience. Flat sheltered grassland with camp shelter/BBQ . Choose your own campsite. Please note: There is a 2 .5 tonne limit on the road and bridge entering the property. Due to the small size of the bridge, the even weight distribution between cars and small trailers of 2 tonne or less are permitted. Due to the location and the calm nature of the surrounding areas Arcadia is not a party venue. It is an oasis of peace and tranquility and a wild life reserve . Although, it is a family oriented property, we also welcome couples and small groups, for those who are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and come back to nature. In order to maintain the serene and quite nature of your visit but also, to comply with social distancing requirements, we only accept a maximum of 25 guests (including children) per day. Our little valley is located 90 minutes from either Sydney or Newcastle, but feels a million miles away. We are nestled in the middle of lush rainforest, at the meeting of two ever flowing creeks. The Great North Walk is literally on our doorstep, and a lovely 2.5 hour walk loops around the property through the surrounding National Park. We have 2 paddocks available for campers to enjoy, as well as our "TajMaPoo" comprised of 5 compost toilets and 5 showers (4 hot, 1 cold). We also have a large rustic shelter with lounges which acts as a wonderful communal gathering space. We absolutely love sharing this piece of paradise with any nature lovers who are respectful and kind to this pristine environment we are lucky to call home. * It does not matter which paddock you book ('main' or 'quiet'), price is the same and we are happy for you to camp in whichever one you prefer when you get here. By booking you agree to adhere to the following rules: - PEACE & QUIET: Please absolutely no loud parties, no amplified music past 9pm, and no excessive drinking. The atmosphere we like to cultivate here is one of quiet enjoyment of nature and community :) - LEAVE NO TRACE: anything you bring in you must bring out. Overview

Patonga is a peaceful beachside town on the southern end of New South Wales’ Central Coast, separated from northern Sydney by the mouth of the Hawkesbury River. Many visitors come on day trips from Palm Beach, as a ferry connects the nearby towns of Ettalong and Wagstaffe with Sydney’s Northern Beaches. It’s easy to stay for longer, though, as there’s a large, well-equipped campground in Patonga itself, and further options in nearby towns and national parks. It’s worth lingering to enjoy the swimming, kayaking, SUP boarding, and chilled-out beach vibes.

Where to go

Sydney’s Northern Beaches

Patonga is only separated from Sydney’s Northern Beaches and Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park by the Hawkesbury River. Campers can drive the longer way around or take the passenger ferry from Ettalong or Wagstaffe to Palm Beach. Palm Beach, Whale Beach, and Avalon Beach offer well-equipped campgrounds suitable for all types of campers, while Ku-ring-gai Chase has one campground, the Basin Campground, which can be reached by ferry.

Brisbane Water National Park

Just north of Patonga, the Brisbane Water National Park offers walks, cycling, and fishing, and has some ancient Aboriginal rock art sites. There’s a small, basic bush tent site within the park, as well as a picnic area, or visitors can stay in Patonga or nearby coastal campsites at Umina or Gosford and make day trips into the park. The roads into the park are sealed so two-wheel-drive vehicles have access.

Bouddi National Park

On another peninsula and across Brisbane Water from Patonga but connected by a bridge, the small Bouddi National Park has a golden-sand beach, a popular coastal walk, and fantastic lookout points. There are three beachside campgrounds within the park, which should be booked in advance, and they’re only suitable for tents. Some of the campsites provide drinking water but not all, so come prepared.

When to go

To best enjoy the beautiful beaches around Patonga, visit in summer, when the weather is hot and conditions perfect for going between the sand and the sea. The summer school holiday period will be especially busy at campsites, though. For other outdoor activities such as hiking and biking, spring and autumn are preferable, with cooler temperatures. Winter is the off-season and the weather can be cool and wet but not very cold, so staying in campervans, caravans, and cabins is more comfortable.
