    Some of our campsites DO NOT come with facilities. Please read your site description carefully. We have 1 powered site that is power ONLY . No toilets, showers, kitchen or pool. You need to be fully self contained. Some Campsites are in our lovely small manicured bush garden setting. It's a level, grass/lawn shaded area. There are 4x 15 amp powered sites. Suitable for small quiet groups/ families. Not suitable for loud partying. The state forest is a short 10min drive away for bush walking, mountain biking and 4 wheel driving. Beach is 40 min drive away. We are located close to the Central Coast and Newcastle. (In Cooranbong ) Some of our camp sites have access to three eco toilets and only one shared shower, rubbish facilities and drinking water. (Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months. We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area. FRIENDLY PETS welcome. On certain camp sites ourSmall kitchen with microwave dishwasher and cook top and fridge may be used . Please just clean up any mess you make. For the next guest All cleaning products under sink. WE HAVE 2 DOGS that are people friendly., who love to meet new fury friends , they do have the run of our property . As our property has a lot of maintenance lawns /gardens ; we may use mowers blowers etc , we will possibly maintain between 10 am to 2 pm If needed.

    Our property is private and we ask you to contact us first to ensure we can provide the facilities suitable for you. sealed roads. The River Retreat sits beside a wide river, with dams and other scattered paddock sites among trees and dams. It best suits off-road independent hybrid caravaners and tent dwellers. The river is lined with mangroves and branches off the Karuah River (mosquitoes during wet periods feed the leaping fish). Birdlife includes: Wedge-tailed and sea eagles, hawks, Tawny Frogmouths, water waders, occasional Jabiroos, pelicans and swans. Be woken by Magpies and Kookaburras, colourful parrots and smaller shyer birds. You'll see kangaroos, wallabies, and maybe Echidnas. You may espy a Koala along the foreshore. For this reason, while we accept dogs, they must be on a leash (if not just for their own safety). The boat ramp allows access for kayaks/canoes. Or just sit on a camper chair and dangle your feet in the water while watching the mud crabs go about their social business. Riverside sites are not powered and do not have water or sewerage. They are situated within 10m to 25m of each other and if this is too close, we recommend booking two sites. Generally, we prefer campers to be 100% self-contained, with their own toilet. A toilet is however accessible, but some 300m to 400m distance from the dams and rivers. There is cold potable running water here for topping up. Sealed roads to the front gate to access the property from north and south. All-weather gravel road access is available, although paddock sites can only be accessed by vehicle during dry periods. Weather willing, we can provide more secluded sites by some lovely dams, (please check conditions if you have concerns). Local groceries can be sourced from Karuah and Stroud. Activities include: - Bird/nature watching - Paddling/canoeing - Fishing - Bike riding (small motor vessels only by arrangement) - Surface type: grass or paddock leveled areas and others with slight slopes and accessed with 4WD (of course subject to weather). - Generally fair to good Mobile phone access. - BYO or Preorder firewood for applicable sites out of fire season. - No electrical connections unless by arrangement (for longer term Hipcampers) - We treat our own sewerage. - No generators please.

Book this site or cabin for just you and your group exclusively, or book both for your exclusive use. Enjoy quiet, private surroundings during the day, and dazzling star shows at night. The large campsite and cabin are located on a level, grassed area with plenty of space to pitch tents, or park campers and caravans. Children just love the level grassy land to run and just be a kid. It's perfect for games like cricket, soccer, and football to name a few. The amenities block has both toilet and shower, and there is also power available to connect up to. A large sheltered area, our camp kitchen, includes fridge, barbeque, electricity, kettle, table, chairs and more. Enjoy bird watching, visiting wallabies in the late afternoon, or looking for fossils in the seasonal creek just a few metres away. The historical town of Stroud is only 10 or so minutes away if you need supplies. Karuah River is close by for swimming and fishing, and the Barrington Tops National Park is approximately 50 minutes away. Ride Dungog is located at The Common in Dungog, for mountain bike enthusiasts. The area includes 650 acres offering trails for all different levels. While visiting Dungog, there are boutique cafes and shops, a historic cinema, and a lot more to see as you wander through the streets. Unfortunately we no longer have parties, including 18ths, 21sts etc.

    We looked for alternative ways of living 6 years ago so we purchased 220 acres to build an off grid camping/eco resort. The property consists of a straw bale house, Tipis, Cottages, 5 stars shared facilities (hot showers, flushing toilets - disable toilet ), outdoor kitchen (gas bbq, pizza oven, all kitchen utensils, pots ), solar system and worm farm septic system. The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home. Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.) Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property. They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties.     The property rests on the shoulder on Mt Nellinda on nineteen hectares of land, there are two large Greenhouses where we grow potted flowers and some veggies, also several large dams which are used for irrigation and act as a Sanctury for our geese, best of all are the views. The perfect spot for relaxing next to a fire and listening to the Frogs and nightlife and waking to the sounds of kookaburras and bird life, Lots of Rock Wallabies in the evenings and early mornings. Dog friendly, no leads required, portable toilets in the multiple Camp site 1 and an older style toilet in the camping area 2, fresh water available only next to the portable toilets camping area 1. also included is a camp kitchen with fridge, kettle microwave etc for your convenience. Check with host regarding campfires. Group bookings accepted with prior notice to save camping areas. Range of six camping areas. CAMP 1 allows up to 14 or more campsites to include caravans, motor homes, large or small. tents etc. with flat and slightly flat areas and close to the roadway dead end street. CAMP 2 allows up to eight or more smaller caravans tents rooftops etc also with some flatter areas. CAMP 3 is a private in the bush area and will cater for five or so rooftops tents, difficult for caravans or large vehicles. CAMP 4 smaller possibly two tents or rooftops secluded in the bush. CAMP 5 similar to camp 3 in the bush and completely private great for a get together with friends. CAMP 6 is the very top of the mountain with a long wide strip of cleared area with bush on both sides and a window at the end to the valley below, very private, must be fully contained and would suit most vehicles, may lose traction if pulling a heavy caravan or trailer.

It is peaceful and secluded. Campers can used shared kitchen and bathroom facilities located at the top of the camp area. Dogs are welcome, but as it's a working farm, we ask the remain on leash at all times.

The Communal camping area is within walking distance of our amenities block, which offers flushing porcelain toilets and a hot shower. Bush campsites are fully self-sufficient, BYO (bring your own) water and toileting system. All campers are required to take their rubbish home with them as there are no bins on site.
