1 night at Willowbank

We camped overnight in our campervan and it was delightful. There were no other campers, and it was so peaceful next to the Rapids. The river front camping is a treat, and Joanne and Ian are terrific hosts to deal with. You can buy firewood for $18 but recommend you akso bring your own if you want a substantial campfire. Thanks Jianne for everything, including a smooth chain if communication and checking. We will be back! Sue and Geoff

Absolutely beautiful campsite! The sunset was amazing and the bathrooms were soo good! So much provided and well worth the money. Greete so nicely too. We would be back in a heartbeat, and probably will!

Weekend Trip to Blackwood Hill

Beautiful hilltop in hill country. Very quiet and peaceful, heavenly views. Dogs loved having a run. Owner Bradley a lovely man and very helpful. The drive is not that bad, the really steep bit is quite short. Got up easily in my Honda CRV, it is awd, and it was dry. The fire circle with fairy lights is a bit magic too.

We absolutely loved our stay on Joanne & Ian’s property. Thank you both so much for your hospitality. Really helpful getting our van into position. Stunning farm on the river with no one in sight. We purchased wood extra which was a fantastic option, fire pit was also really handy which meant we didn’t need to use ours. Thanks again, we will be back for longer next time.

Ian and Jo's property was absolutely lovely. The weather was perfect which only made the trip even better. This was our first time using Hipcamp and I probably had more questions than usual but Jo answered them all and promptly at that. Ian brought down a fit pit he had made and we used it for cooking on the fire. I would recommend this site and the lovely hosts.

We stayed for one night at the rapids and it was so lovely and peaceful. Plenty of privacy, a great spot to relax and enjoy some time away. Joanne was very welcoming. Will definitely return!

Weekend Trip to Willowbank

Loved our night at Willowbank, will definitely be coming back. Our campsite was the Rapids and we were maybe 100m from the next closest camper, so plenty of privacy. The water was beautiful to listen to and watch. There was shade from the morning sun. Land was pretty flat so didn’t need to lift any wheels. We paid for firewood and it was waiting for us on our site, with kindling and enough to last the night, good dry wood too. Not too far from Newwy.

What a great spot along the Karuah river. Easy access to the river. Great spot to swim, and or let your dogs swim. Horses and cattle came to say hello(behind the fence so not at campsite. Night sky is fantastic. And Jo and Ian are superb hosts! Very friendly and accommodating. We would've loved to stay longer. So we'll have to come back one day.

We had a great stay at Willowbank and stayed on the ‘She oaks’ site. Beautiful big tree for shade, flat grounds for easy, setup (didn't need levellers)and quick stroll down to the river. Joanne and Ian were super accommodating and checked in with us regularly. We added firewood as part of our stay and when the rain cleared up on the second day we could sit around the fire and look up at a million stars! Kids had fun feeding the horses and exploring the farm along the river. Short drive from Sydney, will be back!

We very much enjoyed our weekend on Long Flat at WillowBank. The picturesque riverside site is well maintained, private and spacious. Jo & Ian are friendly & helpful hosts. Nearby Stroud has an interesting history & a delightful cafe or two.

We had a wonderful time at Willowbank. Joanne is a great host, caring, helpful and polite. The rain was continuous the whole weekend so the river was raising but Joanne made sure all campers were safe and updated on conditions. I fully recommend this farm stay

The property has been in our family for 4 generations, being bought by Ian's great grandfather in the 1920's. We cater for guests that are looking to get back to nature and enjoy the great outdoors without feeling overcrowded! We want our guests to be happy and have the best experience possible. Located only 8 minutes drive from the historical town of Stroud which was settled by the AA Company in the 1820's as a food growing area. There are still many beautiful buildings from that period to explore. A dairy farm for many years, we switched over to beef around 15 years ago. Currently we run around 120 head of Angus and mixed breed cattle. Within 3 hours drive of Sydney and around an hour from the Barrington National Parks, Newcastle, Maitland, Forster and Nelson Bay, it makes it the perfect destination for a weekend getaway! We are offering 5 beautiful, partly shaded, camping sites along the pristine Upper Karuah River. All sites are separated for privacy and are all right on the edge of the river. You may get a visit from our horses, Dolly and Banjo and the cows and calves! Plenty of opportunities for bird watching, hiking, swimming, kayaking, fishing (in summer), star gazing or just relaxing. All sites are site only and no toilet or shower facilities are provided. Fame Mountain Camp - pets welcome

We are a farm forestry property located in the middle of the north shore of Port Stephens. Two hours north of Hornsby. 1 hour north of Newcastle. 2 mins to Pindimar beach, 9 minutes to Coles and bottle shop, 11 minutes to surf beach, 12 minutes to Jimmy's Beach. Pets are welcome, but please pick up after them. Free firewood - Help yourself to what you need. The logs will need to be split as required. An axe and a wheelbarrow are supplied and are stored, in the firewood storage shed. - Every site has a fire pit. Hot showers and clean, decent toilets. Good mobile signal for Telstra and Optus networks. Two Communal Fridges and a cold communal spa. There is lots of space for campers so you will have privacy whilst you enjoy your camping adventure. We are located on a dead end road, so very rare to have any traffic after 8pm. Good fishing. Pretty much everywhere you can wet a line. Prawns are best bait. If your dog is on the government list of restricted breeds or on the dangerous dog list please leave at home We have a gentle, well trained old German Shepherd who adores kids but after being bitten by another dog, now prefers to stay inside the house and not visit the camp sites. PLEASE NOTE: 1) We ONLY ALLOW ONE camper trailer or ONE caravan per site. No limit on number of tents. 2) IF You Have more than 3 vehicles/site please contact host before booking. 3) Depending on the weather on the day, we may have to limit the number of vehicles that can be parked adjacent to your campsite. 4) NO late night check in . If you are a group larger than two people the check in time is between midday and sunset. Do not arrive after sunset. The reason being if you are a large group turning up late, you will ruin the camping experience of other campers who got there earlier to watch the sunset and just chill. Furthermore, the sunsets are one of the reasons people come here. Every single day it is totally different. If you arrive late you have missed it.... 5) As the business name suggests (mountain) our property is on a slope. We do have several flat areas for tents , hybrids, camper vans and small caravans. And we have 6 levelling blocks scattered across the sites. Dead flat is a concrete slab at any caravan park anywhere but here.

Join us each July for the renowned Stroud Brick throwing competition! The camping area is caravan-friendly, but mindful access during wet weather is crucial to preserving the landscape. Fernbrook welcomes your furry companions too but requires dogs to be supervised and leashed at all times for their safety and that of our livestock. Leaving dogs off-leash may lead to eviction without refund, and any harm to livestock or dogs must be avoided. Basic amenities include a toilet (please bring your own environmentally friendly toilet paper) and shower. Campers may use our rainwater to fill their tanks, and hot water connections are available, with campers providing their own gas bottles. A small kitchenette equipped with a sink, cupboards, microwave, and power outlets for fry pans is available, with clear labeling of personal belongings.
