Hope Valley

43 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents1375 acres · Amamoor Creek, QLD
4WD Recommended - dirt/gravel road and two creek crossings (through the creek bed) to get here. We have a whole beautiful valley with crystal clear spring-fed creeks, patches of rain forest and hillsides covered in grass-trees backing onto Wrattens State Forest. There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here. This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here. No mobile phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get phone signal if needed and we have a landline phone in our house which can be used in emergencies.

Jandarra, Tallebudgera Valley

7 sites · Lodging, Tents135 acres · Tallebudgera Valley, QLD
Jandarra Farm offers a comfortable and peaceful camping experience on a working farm in the Gold Coast hinterland. Certified through Ecotourism Australia, Jandarra’s goal is to model and inspire responsible ecological stewardship and foster harmony and creativity to build a regenerative and abundant future. Jandarra means 'place of peace' and we honour this by having a maximum of 6 campers at a time. Guests can visit the rockpool, take a self-guided walk through the rainforest, book a sauna (see Extras), and enjoy a conversation around the campfire under the stars (BYO firewood or see Extras). Take a short, hot shower with a view of the hills, toilets and a camp kitchen (no microwave or fridge) inside a rustic barn with tables and chairs. Starlink is the newest additon to the farm though may not have coverage in the camping areas. Telstra has some coverage. The 135-acre farm in Tallebudgera Valley is home to cattle, chickens, worm farms and bee hives, plus local wildlife. Guests are invited to learn about regenerative agricultural practices such as how Jandarra is managing cattle to build soil biology and rebalance nature, using holistic management practices - moving the cattle every day using electric fences (to replace the predators) and small paddocks (26 of them actually). As food security and clean food becomes more important than ever before, we can contribute in a small way to improving the quality of your soil to grow vegetables by providing short introductory sessions on worms and manure for your gardens. See Extras for more information. EXTRAS - We offer a range of Jandarra Experiences including: - Pop-up trailer, with linen (fully set up on arrival) - Pop-up trailer, BYO linen (fully set up on arrival, sans linen) - Infrared sauna (See Extras - $20 for 30 mins for one or two guests. Turned on at agreed times by host and guests) - Cold plunge pool (See Extras - $10 for dip, single use) - Firewood from farm $12 per crate - Organic muesli with Jandarra fruit - Jandarra organic eggs - Learn about the wonder of worms + optional worm farm starter kit to take home (subject to availability) - Take some crap, AKA manure, home (subject to availability) - Sew your own boomerang bag to take home ECOTOURISM CERTIFIED CAMPING Jandarra is one of two Hipcamp sites to be certified through Ecotourism Australia. This certification assures travellers that they are booking high-quality eco experiences. Our goal is to model and inspire responsible ecological stewardship and foster harmony and creativity to build a regenerative and abundant future. There are many places to wander, sit and listen. Over 90 bird species have been listed here. Jandarra is a registered Land for Wildlife property and we ask all guests to be mindful of wildlife and farm animals when moving around the property. SUSTAINABILITY The caretaker of this property co-founded "Boomerang Bags", a not-for-profit organisation raising awareness of plastic pollution through community engagement. There are over 1200 communities globally diverting material from landfill and creating habits of reuse rather than single-use. Therefore, drumroll...please bring reusable rather than single-use (eg beeswax wraps instead of cling wrap, real containers rather than takeaway) and take home any rubbish (you won't find any bins except for the food scraps). We would be very happy to show you how to make a boomerang bag for keeps on the industrial sewing machines that live in the garage. Let us know if you would like to try your hand and create a momento and useful shopping bag as part of the Jandarra experience (see Extras). ABOUT REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE Jandarra is the 40th property in Australia to undertake the Ecological Outcome Verification (EOV) Process through the Savory Institute. EOV was developed in collaboration with leading soil scientists, ecologists, agronomists and an extensive network of regenerative land managers around the world. EOV is a practical and scalable soil and landscape assessment methodology that tracks outcomes in biodiversity, soil health, and ecosystem function (water cycle, mineral cycle, energy flow and community dynamics). Jandarra has 10 Short term monitoring sites plus one long-term monitoring site. By recognising both land regeneration targets and trends, EOV endorsement is bestowed as long as land health moves in a net positive direction with the third year monitoring event in April 2023 confirming the positive trend. We believe EOV gives the land a voice and through this process, provides us with feedback to make better management decisions. We welcome a conversation and to share more information when you visit. THINGS TO DO NEARBY - Walk the Ocean Track at Burleigh Heads National Park and cool off at Echo Beach - 3 km walk, swim and picnic at the scenic Gorge Falls (end of Tallebudgera Valley) - Stock up on supplies at the organic food pantry and organic sourdough bakery in Burleigh - Dine at cafes and restaurants such as Parlour (the closest decent coffee), Wazen Japanese and JFK Italian, less than 15 minutes drive from Jandarra. *No smoking or vaping on the property, please. *If you have a larger group wanting visit, please contact us directly.

Charleys Creek Campgrounds

78 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents35 acres · Chinchilla, QLD
Want to save! Book direct via our website. Charleys Creek Campgrounds, Chinchilla (previously known as Clover Hill Camping) is a unique campground right on Chinchilla’s doorstep. Set on 35 acres on the banks of Charley Creek, it has a beautiful bush land setting adjacent to the creek. A truly tranquil experience. Recently rebranded the name to Charleys Creek Campgrounds as it is more fitting, as there is no clover, not much of a hill, and not in America (Ranch). This will also tie in with our other entities - Charleys Creek Beef and Charleys Creek Brewing. We have a number of projects on the go and planned for the Charleys Creek entities to make every stay a unique and authentic experience. "Not just a campgrounds, its the experience". You are welcome to visit us, get to know us, and be part of our journey. This campground offers toilets, showers, access to potable water, and power hook ups. Open fire pits, and fire wood available. It is a dog friendly property. The story of Clover Hill Ranch- In 2019 our livestock enterprise was struggling with the ongoing drought. Water was getting very low and we were buying hay from Victoria. One day while checking stock on our grazing property Bradys (adjacent to Clover Hill Ranch) we looked across the near dry creek and said to each other - if we are going to endure this drought we need to do something different. So we were able to acquire Clover Hill Ranch which was then being run by the CMCA under a lease agreement to the then owners. Then Covid struck and the CMCA left Clover Hill Ranch. So we took it on ourselves and it has been a journey managing our four farming blocks Riverleigh; Coleridge; The Shanti and Bradys as well as Clover Hill Ranch. Fast forward and it is now April 2021 we absolutely love it; enjoy chatting with Campers about our story and we have even organised a Farm Tour route through all of our properties. The feedback has been amazing. We are continuously doing improvements to Clover Hill Ranch with many new Powered Sites with town water and new campsites right on the creek. And everyone loves it when we bring out our trailer mounted meat smoker to put on a smoked Wagyu feast! Campers can purchase our Wagyu and Grassfed Angus beef to try while camping and can even buy some to take home. Activities available at Charleys Creek Campgrounds, Chinchilla: include camping; fishing; kayaking; motorbike riding; bird watching and bush walking. There is accessibility for RVs, camper trailers, caravans and big rigs. Pull through bays available. Camping in tents is allowed. It is walking distance to Chinchilla town centre and Lions playground. Farm tours available upon request. Bookings preferable in advance to avoid disappointment.
