    Nestled in the foothills of Eungella National Park, in behind Calen (Camerons Pocket), this great campsite offers you the opportunity to go swimming, fishing in the fresh water, put a tube in the creek and relax by a campfire. Oh, and there's berries!​ You will be camping right beside St Helen Creek, just a throwing distance from the Strawberry Farm which is open during the winter months (July- September). There is access to toilets and showers, but you will need to bring your own drinking water. You are welcome to have a small campfire in one of our dedicated firepits, and enjoy the starry skies at night. This campsite offers the perfect experience for the whole family. For an additional fee, you can pick strawberries from July- September. Blueberry picking is from October to January. There is lots of wildlife around from kookaburras to kangaroos. Plenty of places to swim if you wanted it to be more private. The campsite area is 2WD accessible and we can accommodate tents through to caravans, campervans and larger camping vehicles.     If you want to get away from it all and relax beside a beautiful crystal clear spring-fed creek with a rainforest backdrop while clouds float by, then this is a place for you. We have one private creek site with or without power, you will have the place to yourselves. are at the main residence up the hill, a small usage fee per stay per couple applies. We are not a commercial campground and are in process of restoring the property back to its glory and bring back the native animals after being effected by bushfires in 2018. There are BBQ and fire pit areas setup for your use at the site and firewood is readily available at fee. The property is located 800m above sea level 11km up Dalrymple Road in Eungella. The property entrance is concealed and on the left side were wheelie bins are located and opposite a traffic mirror. From the front gate which is on your left and has a Land for Wildlife sign is a locked gate. Eungella National Park is boarding the back of the property where the cloud rainforest and creek are located. Nights can be cold and rain sometimes unpredictable. We have a 150 acre property, 50 acres of which is rainforest with a magical creek winding through it. Rainforest walks have been marked or you can just follow the creek and discover secluded swimming holes with small waterfalls. There are leaches in the rainforest and we recommend that you bring insect repellent and adequate hiking gear. You will love the bird watching, sighting the native animals with many rare species around. Forest bathing is a must with areas setup to sit and relax. During November firefly´s drift through the property at dusk. Rosellas, King Parrots and Finch's are popular on the property and Cockatoos make a regular visit. After a good rain, a frog fest starts and can be heard all night. There are chickens free ranging and Kookaburras have a good laugh at them most days. Access to the property is by booking only, we recommend, 4WD and AWD during the wet season but 2WD is ok during the dry times. High clearance caravans up to 7m or medium size campers are ok, we have a long gravel entry road into the property with inclines and tight bends as shown in photos. It is recommended with towing a trailer that you have a 4WD or AWD vehicle. A tractor is available on site if needed in wet conditions. Campers are preferred to have own amenities and all waste has to be collected and taken off the property. Use of the amenity block is available at the main residence on request. Washing machine and dryer are available for a fee. Please contact us if you need further information. This is a dog and horse friendly property. We have many ground feeding birds, free range chickens and wallabies and request that animals do not wonder unattended. If your pet is well trained and can be restrained from casing wildlife then all is good to bring them. If in doubt please ask for confirmation to bring them along. Please note that we have parasite ticks on the property and recommend that you give your pet a tick treatment prior to arriving. We have no mobile phone coverage on the camp site, limited coverage if you drive up the hill at the highest point. Internet is available at the main residence at a fee per stay.

You have come to the right place if you are seeking a private, secluded nature stay with access to pristine water. Our home's permaculture style gardens have been carefully constructed to circulate the systems elements to achieve efficient energy flows by design, were products from one element feeds the next. We are holistic food lovers and are designing our home to provide us with divine garden to plate experiences. Glory creek winds through the property with many amazing camp sites along its banks. We have several spots available depending on what you are after. The camping area is surrounded by a U shaped creek with shallow wading areas and a chest deep swimming hole. Captains Corner 4WD A large area suitable for bigger groups, has a rocky creek access with little multiple wading pools. There is plenty of room to run around and kick a footy. Access to camping area is via a creek crossing then through the pines. A 4WD vehicle is required to cross the creek. Creek Hoppers Nook 4WD Private campsite tucked in at the end of the line where two gorgeous creeks meet. Shallow rock pools perfect for a creek hop and cooling off. Perfect spot for a quiet private camp stay. Amongst the pines 4WD A large grassy stretch of creek amongst the pine trees. If the time is right, you may be lucky enough to be amongst a flurry of fire-flies. There is access to the creek and plenty of shade amongst the pines. This is a large site and is suitable for larger groups. Fires are permitted in the open but not under the pine tree canopy. Rock Pool Bends Choose a spot to setup along the large creek frontage with multiple wading rock pools. This site has a fire-pit and creek water tap for ease of washing. A drop toilet is shared with the hosts. There are other 2WD spots available **We also will have available frozen organic woodfired sourdough that we bake in Eton, bags of fire wood and seasonal fruit and vegetables. If interested in any of these let us know when you check in. PETS: We are pet lovers and know a family getaway is not the same without the fur babies. This location is not only our home, it’s also the home of our dogs, chickens and countless native animals. If your dog likes to injure or kill any animals, then DO NOT bring them. Leave any 'intact' male dogs at home as we have one and we also have an 'intact' female dog. ONLY BRING SOCIAL AND FRIENDLY DOGS. Ensure your dogs are contained within your campsite and cleaned up after. Please notify us if you are unsure if your dog is ok to bring.     If you want to get away from the rat race for a while this is your ideal location. We take one booking at any one time. You have the site all to yourselves. Your site is three acres of privacy and seclusion, rainforest and a beautiful freshwater creek. Close to walks to Araluen Cascades and the Wheel of fire falls at Finch Hatton Gorge. There are no facilities here, so you need to be fully self-contained. No wifi. No mobile coverage (great to get the kids off the screens). There is plenty of water, firewood and wildlife though. Sometimes you won't be able to access the site as creek floods in heavy rain - can be cut off. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Please note check in is between 2 pm and 5 pm unless arranged otherwise. Access is best suited to 4WD or High Clearance vehicles. Not suitable for small cars. The site is suitable for caravans/trailers 6 metres long or smaller.     Hi Everyone and Welcome to our home and a very special property called Platypus Bush Camp. The property has been operating as a bushcamp / rainforest retreat for 40 years and from what we hear regularly it is one of Australia's most unique campsites and it feels nice too :) The bushcamp feels like you are going back in time and has a hint of Asia / South America with the building style and nature but you are in the Aussie rainforest / bush and then we trow in some country hospitality and humour so we can all enjoy our time. There are 4 creeks that flow all year into an absolutely stunning swimming hole that is the largest and deepest in Finch Hatton Gorge. We are off grid but with all the modern amenities like flushing toilets, stunning hot showers with rainforest views (if you like), large fully equipped camp kitchens with everything you need, there is even a pizza oven and usb charging ports and you can see and hear the water from the kitchens and the dining areas. Accomodation options include:
 - 10 unpowered sites available which suit a variety of set ups including sites with your own private deck looking over the creek, shaded sites and sites with sun for solar - please refer to each site description for specific site size and photos. - 6 unpowered tent sites in our grassed where the main fire pit is located - no vehicles are permitted on the grassed area but parking is close by. - 3 private creekside huts / tree houses with stunning views, comfortable beds and bedding. Pets are welcome - as long as they are well behaved and owners clean up after them. There is a central fire pit with seating and cooking plate and an undercover fireplace / dining room as well if there is any rain or bring your own fire pit and use at your site. The property is located in the Pioneer Valley just outside Mackay, Queensland. We are 2 kilometres from the breathtaking Finch Hatton Gorge in the Eungella National Park. Just 1 hour drive from Mackay and 2 hours from Airlie Beach and the drive here is beautiful too. Two or three nights is a good amount of time to be able to explore the area including Eungella National Park, Finch Hatton Gorge (Araluen Cascades & Wheel of Fire) while still having time to relax at the Bushcamp. The beach has good 4 wheel drive access and is very quiet with secluded private camp sites. Sites are nestled in amongst native coastal vegetation that runs into tropical rain forests. The Beach is classified as a Green zone under Qld law which means fishing is excluded along the beach. You can fish at the creek mouth to the north. There is also creek access through the property but no camping there. A small boat can be launched and retrieved. Self sufficient camping only. No toilets, showers, dump points or power provided at this time. Horse yards are available if you whish to bring your horse for rides along the beach, obviously all at your own risk. Well behaved, quiet dogs are allowed, and must be kept within the campsite unless your walking them. Be respectful of others. Areas are available for group Bookings Things to do here include, beach access (walks, drives), horse riding, bird watching, Fishing, Crabbing, A small wet land walk. We are perfectly situated if you want to explore the Mackay region and what the Pioneer Valley has to offer. Come and watch Platypus and turtles play in the billabong. No fires allowed at all, not even for cooking, except in winter. Fire pits will be provided, in winter, not individual fires allowed. We have fire pits to keep you warm on the cool winter nights as you sit around and share your travel stories. Sit back in tranquility as you watch the platypus, turtles and wild life gather in and around the billabong as the sun sets. It's a great way to finish the day. We also offer indoor accommodation for those who prefer all the mod cons. There are toilets and hot showers for campers, and access to the laundry. We have potable water hookups at most camp sites and we also offer four powered sites. You can use one of the two camp kitchens to cook your meals and use the picnic table for meals. Power is available at one of the camp kitchens to recharge your phones and appliances.
