    Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in. The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type. Campfires are permitted and there are small mobile fire pits provided so wherever you set up camp you can have your campfire right beside you. Note: There are no ground fires permitted and at certain times of the year Qld Rural Fire brigade may enforce a total fire ban. We have our “Caffeine Injection” kiosk on-site for the weekends and school holidays. Get your morning caffeine fix as well as bagged ice, firewood, ice creams, snacks, cold drinks etc etc Then we have the old school principals residence aka “The Bush Holiday House“. It is fully self-contained and all linen is provided. Just BYO food & drinks. We offer this for one night stays and longer. Jimna is a tiny town immersed in the Australian bush; with nearby gorges, ravines, creeks and waterfalls - some wild & spectacular places to see. We have 4 sites but only accept one booking at a time perfect for just one tent and a private getaway or for groups of families and friends.     Absolutely an amazing place to camp, relax and enjoy the surroundings. My 30th birthday was spent here at the base camp and I set up a “Australian Survivor” weekend for the friends that came. Pete was very helpful, informative and interested in what was going on. I would recommend this camp ground to anyone that will listen. Thank you very much Pete, i will be seeing you again soon!

The cows when you drive in are gorgeous. Ryan was lovely and very friendly to deal with and welcoming to his property. Peace and quiet and so beautiful.     Peace and tranquility on your doorstep. Arrived with ease thanks to the excellent map and information provided by Glen. We were then left alone, and this beautiful place was ours to enjoy, with no long chats with the owners. This I really enjoyed! Access to the Mary River was so easy and the views above the river at our campsite were amazing. A paddle in the water and a swim for the dog was just what we needed. Wood for the fire pit was provided and the stump seating area under the trees to enjoy the fire was amazing. Yes, you can hear the works of the quarry in the very distant background, but hey…that makes the roads we drive on 🤷🏻‍♀️. We will definitely be back to enjoy this pet friendly camp ground and feel very special to have the use of someone else’s Eden.

    The site was lovely and private, however the ad is misleading as the entire property is in no way 2WD accessible. We had to cross through 2 creeks to get there, as well as a very poorly maintained dirt road. It rained the night before we were supposed to leave which caused the creek to rise significantly. We were unable to get back out of the property and had to be winched through by a neighbour

    Absolutely love this place! 💕 Thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit and creek and the cabin supplied all my needs and felt luxurious as I’m so used to camping. My dogs had a great time in the creek and I put the portable dog enclosure on the verandah with plenty of dog beds and blankets and they happily and safely slept there. The weather was perfect for us and I couldn’t ask for anything more. Thank you Jimmy for hosting us. I’m already planning my next cabin trip with a girlfriend and her pooch so look out for our next booking. 🙏🌻🐾🥰

    We had a nice stay at Dragonfly Cottage Off-Grid Getaway. The location is peaceful, secluded, and surrounded by nature. It’s close to the Mary River for a swim or paddle, and Kenilworth is just a short drive away if you need supplies. The cabin is cozy and well-equipped with the essentials for a comfortable stay. The bathrooms were a nice surprise—more luxurious than you might expect from the rustic exterior. If you're after a quiet retreat, this is a good spot to switch off and unwind.

    𝐀𝐁𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐄 & 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 Totally exceptional experience from initial enquiry to actual stay. Ryan & Kellie are amazing, sharing their slice of heaven and providing an abundance of information both before & during our stay! We dragged our 4x4 13ft Hybrid Van into the Red Cedar Camp area (make sure you have a capable van & tow tug if attempting this as parts of the track will require 4x4 capabilities). As we entered the track to our campsite we were totally blown away by the beauty of the forest canopy above us (forgot to take pics) and before us. A few creek crossings (photos don't do them justice) and then WOW, an opening that was our camp site right beside the creek and at the end of the track so no traffic travelling through ❤️ We are officially in love and will be back !!

    4WD Recommended - dirt/gravel road and two creek crossings (through the creek bed) to get here. We have a whole beautiful valley with crystal clear spring-fed creeks, patches of rain forest and hillsides covered in grass-trees backing onto Wrattens State Forest. There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here. This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here. No mobile phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get phone signal if needed and we have a landline phone in our house which can be used in emergencies.
