Weekend Trip to The Scrub Campsite - Inman Valley

Lovely spot. Quite dusty and you’ll need to bring sand pegs with you. Didn’t use the camp kitchen or toilet as we had our own. Mark was a great host, communication was excellent and he even sorted out noisy campers for us. Will visit again.

Camping at Alma's Hem was unexpectedly magic. When all the campsites in nearby Deep Creek were booked up for the weekend, we stumbled across Alma's Hem on Hipcamp as an alternative option. We're so glad we did! From the moment we drove in, we could see how quiet, scenic and special this place is. The facilities were very quaint and inviting, including a camp kitchen under the stars. The stage and bar area is fun to walk around and explore, and we had the pleasure of meeting two adorable pups who demanded we throw the stick for them to chase (any time). We can't wait to come back :)

A very peaceful spot. Midweek and I was the only one there. Plenty of birds around, especially superb wrens, and some roos. A nice place to enjoy the quiet bush.

Gorgeous spot, very peaceful, nice to be surrounded by animals and the view is outstanding. Laurise is lovely to deal with and made sure we knew everything we needed to and allowed us to extend our stay. Was a highlight of our trip!!

Such a beautiful and peaceful spot. No noise, no traffick, not even visible from the dirt road you drive in from. Lovely spot to just unwind. There is a shower made from water tanks and a toilet (drop toilet in a tin shack, just in case you're not keen on that sort of thing... Bring a torch at night!). A tin shelter using tree stumps to cook food with some BBQs and hang out. Some home made billy carts and bikes to borrow. Soccer net and ball. Plenty of room without being right next to your neighbours and a friendly host! Great spot to unwind from all the noise and bustle! Thanks for having us. 🙂

Bradbury farm was fabulous for us. Our son loved feeding the sheep & collecting eggs, & our dog befriended the very friendly pig! The spot is tranquil & relaxed, & Georgie is a wonderful host, very generous with her time & attention, & simply a beautiful soul. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks Georgie!

The Scrub Campsite - Inman Valley

Inglewood is a 130-acre property currently running beef cattle and sheep. The property has 15 acres of remnant stringy bark scrub which abuts the Heysen Trail. This private campsite is contained within the scrub although campers have access to the whole property. There are 13 bespoke sites available. The owner has the right to assist campers when choosing their site. This is determined by factors such as type of accommodation, group size. access to toilet and communal areas, weather and privacy needs. Specific sites cannot be reserved unless by prior arrangement with the owner. We offer sites suitable for camper trailers, campervans, , rooftop tents, tents and swags and pop top caravans (sorry, no large caravans). During the non fire ban period all fires must be contained in the fire pits provided. Please bring firewood if you intend to have a campfire for an extended period or you may purchase wood for $15 for 20 kgs. All bookings will be cancelled if a severe or catastophic fire is forecast by the weather bureau. Campers can claim a refund from Hipcamp A communal camp kitchen, barbecue, rain water and tables available. A composting toilet is available as is a shower system. Colloquially known as God's Country the property is conveniently located 1hr 20 mins from Adelaide, 14 mins from Victor Harbor, and 20 mins from Pt Elliot, Middleton, Waitpinga and Parson's beach, Hindmarsh Falls and Normanville. Other nearby localities are Deep Creek National Park, Newland Conservation Park, Springmount National Park, Granite Island and the Kangaroo Island ferry. The popular Belicious Belgium Cafe is a 60 min walk or 5 minute drive from the campsite. Walkers on the Heysen trail can access the campsite 100 metres away. (Keen Road entrance) Please note that the campsite has a no noise/music policy after 10pm. Noisy campers has been my biggest complaint so please respect others and adhere to the policy. Children must be supervised at all times. Please note that a fenced off dam is located near the campsite and is out of bounds to all children unless supervised by an adult. Rubbish must be removed by all campers as no bins are available. The whole campsite can be hired exclusively for large groups - contact me direct for booking details and costs. A wood package can be purchased for $50 the communal fire circle. The Scrub Campsite was honored to have won 1st place for best campsite in South Australia for 2024. We are just 15 minutes drive from Mount Lofty where you can enjoy some of the many trails available and see cascading waterfalls, scenic gorges and lush fern gullies brimming with bush birds and wildflowers. There are a number of great wineries in the area all with excellent wines and local produce you can enjoy. We also have several gin distilleries. We are a short walk to Wotton's Scrub (Kenneth Stirling Conservation Park) and close to Hahndorf, Oakbank and Stirling. Campers must be self contained with their own camping toilet and water and take all rubbish with them on departure. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash.

Campsites are located on level grassy area. Flushing toilets, fire pit and firewood available. Perfect for a romantic getaway or for small and larger groups. Please note that our property has work dogs who live nearby and love to visit guests. When you arrive there is a map located on the right hand side of the driveway entrance with the sites marked. You are welcome to find your site get comfortable. We will welcome you at some stage! Please contact us if you'd like to book for more guests than listed and we will do our best to accommodate. Campground has shared facilities and respect of each other and the land is critical. We are a leave no trace site, which means everything you bring in you must take with you, which includes rubbish and broken things. The bins at the entrance are for residents only and as they are only collected fortnightly cannot cater for more than those who live here. Firewood can be brought in by you or we will provide wood for $30/night per site. Wood is not to be foraged from adjoining scrub as it is Heritage listed and to be left for habitat, ecosystem and your admiration only! We look forward to crossing paths!
