Less than 1km from the the Heysen trail, giving you easy access to hikes. 15 minute drive from Victor Harbor for all your shopping conveniences. 20 mins to the stunning Carrackalinga beaches; Kayaking the Second Valley caves and beautiful drives to waterfalls, conservation parks and tourist attractions. Campsites are located on level grassy area. Flushing toilets, fire pit and firewood available. Perfect for a romantic getaway or for small and larger groups. Please note that our property has work dogs who live nearby and love to visit guests. When you arrive there is a map located on the right hand side of the driveway entrance with the sites marked. You are welcome to find your site get comfortable. We will welcome you at some stage! Please contact us if you'd like to book for more guests than listed and we will do our best to accommodate. Campground has shared facilities and respect of each other and the land is critical. We are a leave no trace site, which means everything you bring in you must take with you, which includes rubbish and broken things. The bins at the entrance are for residents only and as they are only collected fortnightly cannot cater for more than those who live here. Firewood can be brought in by you or we will provide wood for $30/night per site. Wood is not to be foraged from adjoining scrub as it is Heritage listed and to be left for habitat, ecosystem and your admiration only! We look forward to crossing paths! We are located walking distance from lake alexandrina, we’re there are plenty of activities to do such as fishing, boating, and more. There is abundance of wildlife with our resident mob of kangaroos stoping by daily it’s a bird watchers paradise. This site is a 4 minute walk from the main house and is completely private. The property has its own private road so plenty of room for kids to ride their bikes, we have horses and cows that guests are welcome to feed over the fence. The town of milang has its own mini mart and cafe and on weekends the train museum is open for viewing. Must be self contained and leave no trace.

Our property is at the top of the watershed, so we don't get run off from other properties nearby. We are situated 14 km from the centre of Victor Harbor on the top of Cut Hill.     Beautiful farm, animals wandering about, a lovely outlook, little table and chairs scattered about to chill, magic views of the sunrise and set. Wind blew hard for us so we couldn’t take full advantage but would definitely recommend.

    Lovely spot. Quite dusty and you’ll need to bring sand pegs with you. Didn’t use the camp kitchen or toilet as we had our own. Mark was a great host, communication was excellent and he even sorted out noisy campers for us. Will visit again.

    Camping at Alma's Hem was unexpectedly magic. When all the campsites in nearby Deep Creek were booked up for the weekend, we stumbled across Alma's Hem on Hipcamp as an alternative option. We're so glad we did! From the moment we drove in, we could see how quiet, scenic and special this place is. The facilities were very quaint and inviting, including a camp kitchen under the stars. The stage and bar area is fun to walk around and explore, and we had the pleasure of meeting two adorable pups who demanded we throw the stick for them to chase (any time). We can't wait to come back :)

    Quiet camp with friendly cows over the fence. Beautiful starry sky with no light pollution. Be aware south Australia is in drought so it’s not soft grass. Made camping a bit awkward.

    Rob is a friendly welcoming host. We were only there for one night en route to the KI ferry, but it is a peaceful spot and we enjoyed meeting the goats, sheep and seeing kangaroos grazing. Nice clean toilets and the hot shower was an added bonus.

    Farm Paddock was a very peaceful setting with plenty of space for the amount of campers allowed, the horses were friendly and funny. Price was also reasonable. My only criticism would be to add some trees and or plants to green up the area and give a little protection from the elements but regardless still a nice camp.

    We loved camping at Jenna & Shannon’s place. The family were so welcoming and friendly, greeting us upon arrival with carrots to give to their 4 beautiful horses! There was plenty of room in the paddock and space for the dog to run and play. The camp was close to the town with an easy access road. All round a beautiful spot!

    Great flat open space with easy access. Nice welcome from the hosts and they were very helpful in getting us settled. 4 vans were in on the same nights, but was plenty of room. It is just a paddock though, and very dry this time of year. However it's in a good central location with short and easy access to the peninsula, and we got great sunsets each night. Very friendly horses in the neighbouring paddock added a nice touch. The kids from the other campers could ride their bikes around and had room to play, but everyone was far enough away from each other that generators didn't bother anyone. Thanks for your hospitality🙏🙏

    Inglewood is a 130-acre property currently running beef cattle and sheep. The property has 15 acres of remnant stringy bark scrub which abuts the Heysen Trail. This private campsite is contained within the scrub although campers have access to the whole property. There are 13 bespoke sites available. The owner has the right to assist campers when choosing their site. This is determined by factors such as type of accommodation, group size. access to toilet and communal areas, weather and privacy needs. Specific sites cannot be reserved unless by prior arrangement with the owner. We offer sites suitable for camper trailers, campervans, , rooftop tents, tents and swags and pop top caravans (sorry, no large caravans). During the non fire ban period all fires must be contained in the fire pits provided. Please bring firewood if you intend to have a campfire for an extended period or you may purchase wood for $15 for 20 kgs. All bookings will be cancelled if a severe or catastophic fire is forecast by the weather bureau. Campers can claim a refund from Hipcamp A communal camp kitchen, barbecue, rain water and tables available. A composting toilet is available as is a shower system. Colloquially known as God's Country the property is conveniently located 1hr 20 mins from Adelaide, 14 mins from Victor Harbor, and 20 mins from Pt Elliot, Middleton, Waitpinga and Parson's beach, Hindmarsh Falls and Normanville. Other nearby localities are Deep Creek National Park, Newland Conservation Park, Springmount National Park, Granite Island and the Kangaroo Island ferry. The popular Belicious Belgium Cafe is a 60 min walk or 5 minute drive from the campsite. Walkers on the Heysen trail can access the campsite 100 metres away. (Keen Road entrance) Please note that the campsite has a no noise/music policy after 10pm. Noisy campers has been my biggest complaint so please respect others and adhere to the policy. Children must be supervised at all times. Please note that a fenced off dam is located near the campsite and is out of bounds to all children unless supervised by an adult. Rubbish must be removed by all campers as no bins are available. The whole campsite can be hired exclusively for large groups - contact me direct for booking details and costs. A wood package can be purchased for $50 the communal fire circle. The Scrub Campsite was honored to have won 1st place for best campsite in South Australia for 2024. All campers are to respect other campers and the land that they are camping on. We look forward to welcoming you to The Scrub Campsite!
