Located an hours drive North West of Hobart near the quaint little town of Ouse (pronounced - ooze) and set on the pristine Derwent River. Like so many of the towns on the Derwent River, this region is very popular with bushwalkers, fishing enthusiasts, and mountain bike riders. Overlooking the "pot-belly" of the Derwent River,  This place is a fishing and kayaking heaven . Have a swim in summer, kayak or go for an adventure on your mountain bike. There are two kayaks and two SUPs you are welcome to use. And there is a boat ramp just a few kms down the road to launch your boat. The Bunkhouse is a beautifully built structure, with large windows and plenty of space. It's two storey, with the upper open-plan level accommodating 8 people in single bunk beds. A further two guests can sleep on the large sofa bed downstairs. The bunkhouse is fully self-contained with a kitchenette, toilet and shower.Clean sheets and blankets . Wi- Fi and streamed TV movie channels Please note - this is not the ritz! It's a simple bunkhouse, providing shelter to sleep, in a great location. If you wish to make use of the firepit, you'll need to BYO wood, this firepit is not often used. Instead, we'd recommend bringing a small portable bbq with you to set up by the river! You're welcome to bring pets too.

    Female only! Stay in a bohemian traditional Mongolian Ger (yurt) on a beautiful Australian native garden of 2 acres overlooking Mercury Passage and fascinating Maria Island. Private yet safely contained within the property Would be ideal for single travelling female if any age who wishes to explore this beautiful area. Visit the stunning Maria Island, 20 minutes away to the Triabunna ferry. Visit Freycinet and the Tasman Peninsula. Hobart is 75 minutes away, airport 50 minutes. East Coast Tasmania..nowhere better! Enjoy lots of activities in the area and come back to your serene surroundings. The Seadragon Yurt is basic and rustic. It's cosy, has minimal facilities but you can boil a kettle, microwave a meal (home cooked meals $15 booked in advance) a porta porti and main bathroom facilities in my house twice daily.. There's an armchair, a wood stove, a single comfortable stretcher bed. Microwave, tea & coffee. Filtered rainwater. BYO sheets & towels or let me know and I can provide. I'm a respectable distance away but your privacy is as important to you as it is to me. Park on-site and you have a private entrance. There are two silly labradors who may visit you outside so you do need to be a dog person. If not.. sorry the yurt is not for you. Please note this is a female only property.

    Amazing visit. This powered camp was clean with very helpful amenities such as toilet and shower. Kitchen was well supplied with utensils, cutlery and crockery if you needed. Plenty of room for our multi generational family trip. Nice relaxing vibe with hammocks to chill out in and soak in the natural serenity. A proper piece of paradise, and literal 5 minute walk to the beach.

    Stayed here for one night, and it was great! Would definitely recommend. Short walk into town, beach and general store. Can get a coffee at the cafe next to the general store, and close drive to the Bruny island cruises terminal. Kitchen has anything you would need, a treat if you are camping. Same with the bathroom, was fresh and clean!

    Great spot to stay. Comfy little barn with everything I needed, but not overdone with things I'd never use. Perfect alternative to traditional motel or tourist park. Feels like staying at a mate's place. Located conveniently close to facilities of Adventure Bay, but feels tucked away and has a great view of & short walk to the ocean. The hostess, Bri, was very easy to deal with and very helpful. I will most probably be back with my dog next time. Outside, the property is spacious and well fenced. I would highly recommend Funky Barn.

    I loved my stay in the Funky barn. The perfect spot for some R&R. Set in a beautiful slice of Bruny coast with birdlife and views. Loved the unspoilt beach and coastal walks and looking at the night sky from the loft bed. Bri is very hospitable and helpful with lots to share on the local area. I'm sure I will stay again.     We loved staying here. Amazing views with plenty of privacy and a nice quiet location. We stayed down near the bottom fence line on the flat spot - ideal if the weather’s good and it’s not windy (unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side this time). The other spot between the barn and the road would be more sheltered in windy weather. Bri was very friendly and welcomed us warmly (along with her two beautiful Great Dane companions). I followed the track down to the rock shelves and managed to catch a nice salmon, and also a couple of squid! We’ll be back!

    Loved staying at Bri's, we were lucky enough to be able to book both the barn and the camping spots - allowing 3 of us to camp while having some creature comforts inside for cooking, etc. The walks to the sea cave and neck beach were wonderful. Will definitely be back, what a spot!

    I had a fantastic stay at Bri’s Hipcamp on Bruny Island. The site offers stunning views—absolutely worth waking up to every morning. Bri was incredibly helpful, providing clear directions to Neck Beach, which made exploring the area easy. It’s a peaceful and beautiful spot that I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Bruny Island.

    Our family, all adults and one very pregnant daughter, had a great time, it was an adventure taking the kayaks and paddle boards down to the water. We weren’t in a rush and we had plenty of laughs trying to get on and off the boards. It was basic accommodation, we bought our BBQ and Eskies, there was a small fridge and we spent most of our time outside, taking in the serenity. What a view! We took our camp chairs too, just for added comfort, there were plenty of chairs provided. Our dogs had a fantastic time, tired them out swimming and playing cricket. Brad lives next door, we wouldn’t have known he was there. I did speak to Brad prior and he was very obliging, gave great directions and we would definitely go there again. Thanks Brad for allowing us to stay at your lodge, letting us take our dogs and for being a great host.

    Situated on a small coastal farm on 8 acres above the cliffs of Adventure Bay, at the southern end of the neck beach, and in a central location for exploring Bruny Island. Camping area and the barn are in a gently sloping pasture paddock with flat areas for camping. Beautiful walks from the property, with just a five minute walk down to the spectacular sea cave, and a 10-15 minute walk through the light bush and along the picturesque cliff top coastline to the neck beach, where you can swim with the waves, fish off the rocks, or go for an endless walk along the beach. 5 minutes drive to adventure bay's beautiful beaches which are safe for swimming and dog friendly, as well as the grocery store, restaurant, bowls club (for Friday and Saturday night meals). If you love birds, there will be plenty of sounds to listen to from the trees. You might be lucky to see the wedge tail eagle hovering above. Resident banjo frogs live in the large pond in the corner of the paddock. The main house where we live part time is on the property, but you still have your own space and reasonable privacy. 2 options available: + Camp site for just one group at a time in a relatively flat area with lovely ocean views. + Or upgrade to an affordable lodging in a rustic but comfortable converted horse barn, double bed in the loft with clean linen provided, living and kitchen area. Magnificent ocean views from the lounge or when lying in bed next to the window upstairs. Portable camping toilet is in the outhouse. Dogs are subject to pre-approval, and must be kept under control if our horses or dogs are on the property. Horses are usually only here during the winter months. The property is fully fenced so there is plenty of space for your dog to run around and a large pond. And please don’t expect Airbnb standards if you chose to stay in the barn. Its is a fun affordable upgrade/escape from camping without the glamour and high fees of glamping.

    Our paradise is located on Bruny Island, with forest mountain views to the west stretching to the south and east across Adventure Bay to Tasman Island and Peninsula. Camp is just a short walk to Quiet Corner and Two Tree Point, two iconic spots on the Adventure Bay coastline. Fluted Cape and this whole area are spectacular for nature lovers. And you'll be sharing the space with resident wallabies and native birdlife. This little block has plenty of sun and a shady fern glade for hammocks, flat spots for camping or vans, with a flushing toilet, hot shower and laundry facilities. The camp kitchen is located in a cosy north-facing cabin with a lounge, BBQ and fire pit. Pet's are welcome, but we ask they be kept under effective control at ALL times - see rules.
