The property is 380m from the junction of the Lyell Highway and the Gordon River Road. It has 450m absolute river frontage on the River Derwent (no riparian reserve). The river here is freshwater, potable and a renowned trout water, (licence required). Three kilometres from the village of Gretna. 4WD Preferred. 2WD need to assess river access. Campers need all own amenities and leave no trace. Dog friendly but please see rules, we have livestock and so dogs need to be well controlled at all times. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place (see rules around campfires). Due to hydro generation activity, the river may slowly rise or fall up to 1m (often without rain) so please be careful around the water.

The site is not just in a paddock but is surrounded by beautiful native trees and garden - there is a small camp shelter with power, bench, sink, hot water and a bar fridge. There is also an outdoor shower to rinse off after a swim. The beach is a 5 minute walk away. We have a deck positioned to pull up to next to the shed. Clifton Beach is a beachside community located on the south arm peninsula 25 minutes from Hobart city and is the closest surf beach to Hobart. The south arm peninsula itself has many great walks and beautiful beaches. It is a great spot to base yourself to explore Hobart and local attractions. e.g Port Arthur 90 minutes. Our Hipcamp site has full council approval.

If you want to see the coast shown in these photos, both the Tasman Island Cruise and Wild Ocean Tasmania offer excellent trips Bookings are for two adults; children under 16 are free. It may be possible for larger groups to occupy one site - please enquire before booking. As the site is teeming with wildlife including the barred bandicoot, we don't allow dogs. There are no facilities on the block apart from a long drop dunny (byo paper) and a small supply of non-potable water so you will need to be self-sufficient though there are good meals at the nearby Lufra Hotel and excellent coffee just up the road at the legendary Cubed Coffee van. Unhook your van and leave on the secure grounds while you explore everything that is in the area. Turn right and there are Vineyards, Coal Valley is 15 minutes away, Frogmore, Riversdale, Puddle Duck, Pooleys, Wobbly Boot, and many many more. Hobart 40mins, with Salamanca markets every Saturday, Mona Ferry, Cascade brewery, all the restaurants and shops on the waterfront, and wharves. Enjoy the views from Mt Wellington. A bit further past Hobart and you are in the cider tasting area, call into Willie Smith for a cider experience or catch the ferry to go and visit Bruny Island. Turn Left and you have some boutique vineyards: Cape Bernier, and Bangor, all around 30 mins away and offer food as well. Unzoo devil park, Port Arthur and the coal mines, Eaglehawk neck, Tesselated Pavement, Blow hole, Lavender farm. Firepits are supplied, and Firewood can be purchased at time of booking if you're planning on having a campfire . Ten minutes drive to dump site and water refill. Situated on the Arthur highway, walking distance to the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo, Taranna Chocolate Factory and backed onto Rosedale farm is this small lovely flat block with 3 tent/caravan/motor home sites. Just 5 minutes drive to the Lavender Cafe and 9 minutes to the Port Arthur historic site. This is a great little stopover, for those who need a cheap, easy place to stay. Toilet and power is available upon request. Campers are asked to take all their waste and rubbish with them on departure.

Beautiful 8 acre property situated on the edge of the Craigbourne Dam, 2 minutes from the township of Colebrook and 50 minutes from the Hobart CBD. Our property offers are great getaway experience for any traveller. The Craigbourne Dam is a all year round recreational fishing ground and stocks many species of fish i.e. Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout to name a few. Our property is a pet friendly park but we do ask all patrons to be considerate of the surrounding farmland and live stock . As we are a fully self contained campground we do not provide power, toilets or showers. You'll need to have your own amenities and discard of any rubbish . Limit phone coverage but still enough to call/text Contained campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Firewood for sale for a small fee (see Extras). IMPORTANT : Any guest that wish to fish the Craigbourne Dam will be asked to purchase a angling license for the duration of their stay . Thanks

Cluny Lagoon

Take the opportunity to enjoy this very special place on the lake to pitch a tent or park your van by the yurt. You can lay back and star gaze the myriad of stars, and even take a jump off the pontoon into the beautiful cool waters, or bring your kayaks and paddle the shores. Take the opportunity to use as a base to visit the Florentine valley, Mt Field and many other nearby attractions. The tranquillity and privacy will leave you a wonderful feeling of peace. This is a wonderful place to unwind, take a swim with your dog and just hang out with the very special access to the lagoon. The yurt has been there for about 14 years and we have hosted many different groups such as rowing events, parties with bands, bike riding groups and horse riding, amongst other enjoyable activities. There are no amenities here, campers must be self contained and leave no trace. I will consider opening more sites only for single groups on application.

Ryelands Farm & Vineyard

**Please note that it's $20 per person per night. Small farm and vineyard at Macquarie Plains in the Upper Derwent Valley, southern Tasmania. The property is 380m from the junction of the Lyell Highway and the Gordon River Road. It has 450m absolute river frontage on the River Derwent (no riparian reserve). The river here is freshwater, potable and a renowned trout water, (licence required). Three kilometres from the village of Gretna. 4WD Preferred. 2WD need to assess river access. Campers need all own amenities and leave no trace. Dog friendly but please see rules, we have livestock and so dogs need to be well controlled at all times. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place (see rules around campfires). Due to hydro generation activity, the river may slowly rise or fall up to 1m (often without rain) so please be careful around the water.
