Caravan campers can discover gold rush history and natural wonders in Bendigo.
Designated Australia’s first UNESCO Creative City and Region of Gastronomy and less than two hours from Melbourne, Bendigo is the go-to destination for a foodie-inspired city break. Farmers' markets, craft-beer breweries, and award-winning restaurants are all on the menu, after which you can go wine tasting in the Bendigo wine region. It’s not all about the food, though. You can also discover Bendigo’s gold rush history at the Central Deborah Gold Mine or hike and camp at nearby Greater Bendigo National Park. Motorhomes and campervans are also welcome at Lake Eppalock to the south, or take your pick of rural Hipcamps around Bendigo, Maryborough, and Castlemaine. Most private campsites are suitable for self-contained campers only, but there are also several holiday parks and caravan parks that provide powered sites and amenities such as a camp kitchen, BBQ areas, a dump point, and free wifi.
