Gorgeous quiet little spot, friendly greeting and quick last minute booking. Amenity block older and well used but perfectly functional and clean. Lots of shade and grass. The nearby Tavern had great food and good vibes. Perfect stop passing through up the Hume because didn't need to get food or water. Could just stop and rest.

Absolutely loved staying here thank you so much Chrissy. The dogs are amazing and well behaved dogs if you don’t have dogs or don’t like them don’t stay because they just want pats and to keep guard. It’s super close to town if you get a chance stop into eagle hawk bakery the old one any pie from there is amazing.

A picturesque spot on the hill with beautiful views of the bush and farms. With an immaculate shower and toilet, plus a camp kitchen and power in demand it’s the ideal spot to relax or use as a base for the nearby beach towns. The owners are friendly and go out of their way to make it a great stay. In short, we loved it!

Weekend Trip to Clancy Springs, South Gippsland

This is the loveliest spot to camp less than 2 hours drive from Melbourne. A fenced, sheltered paddock with access to power and water if needed and the recent addition of a well appointed kitchen with adjoining shower and toilet. Clean and well maintained. Numbers are limited to 4 so everyone has space. The highlight for me was the most hospitable of hosts in Adrian and the availability of a fire pit on request. Plenty to do nearby during the day. Venus Beach and nature walks followed by a winery lunch at one of the numerous vineyards in the area. Notable mentions are the appearance of kangaroos every evening, birdsong and stars to see at night. Thanks Adrian and Sandy

Fabulous site. We were welcomed to the property by a group of kangaroos. The kitchen, toilet and shower were all clean and very well maintained. Adrian was quick to communicate and welcoming on our arrival. Very happy to recommend this site.

Fiona’s place is a beautiful spot. The hot tub was delightful and we were grateful for the shelter from the rain. The shower is open air but the water is definitely hot. Great view and location to relax above Apollo Bay.

1 night at Camping on Coppards

Steve is super friendly and helpful. He met us at the gate at 8pm after we'd come off the Spirit of Tasmania and got us settled and had a lovely chat. The site is a 1 acre block on the edge of Geelong only about 20 minutes from the ferry. It's nice and flat and easily accessible for overnighters like we were but also has longer term visitors for weeks (or a family we met there had been using it as base for a couple of months! Our dogs also got the treat of being able to play off lead with Steve's dog and another guest's dog as the property is fully fenced and, as long as all the doggos are getting on and being supervised, it's fairly relaxed. I'd recommend this as a great overnighter befor or after the ferry but also as a base to explore Geelong.

We loved camping at Brady Farmstay. We had a beautiful patch of grass near shower and loo with wonderful clear skies, and starry nights. The hosts, Sam and Jo could not have been more helpful. It was so peaceful, and lovely to experience a little of life on a working farm. Thank you Sam and Jo for a great stay!

Adrian was a great host — very helpful and accomodating (including with getting our fire started). Perfect for a quiet weekend away.

Weekend Trip to Riverside King Valley

We stayed at Site 1 & would absolutely recommend. Riverside is a beautiful place to camp. All the sites are spaced apart enough that you have privacy. Site one is right on the river which was great for swimming, fishing or just relaxing next to. I loved being able to hear the water from our camper. The shower and toilets are close by and are great facilities. The hosts were really friendly and helpful! And the King Valley has a lot to offer, a great location! We will definitely be back.

We stayed at Robinia forest for the weekend and it was one of the best spots I have stayed at. It was very secluded from other campsites with good access to the King River. Plenty of shade with the trees at the site. Daemon was very responsive when we needed more firewood and a very friendly host. Would stay again and recommend this site.

Grassvale Farm Retreat EST. 1900

We border the Mitchell river with the farm so there are about 1 km of secluded banks to sit or swim from if you want to just stay put. For those wanting pure relaxation, meditation, and soul grounding. We can personally show you some tremendous places on the farm to go within. Pure solace is something that many take for granted. Use our pyramid to draw in Quantum/etheric energy, go to the top of our crystal hill and feel the energies. There is so much to be thankful for when you can release in these spaces. Alternatively sit amongst the cows and feel their energy surround you as their curious nature brings them in closer and closer until they relax around you. Alternatively if you want to chill with a beer on the river bank and try for some bass, or watch the eastern water dragons play in the sun and water, then that’s a great way to unwind, or soak up the sun rays as it drops below the horizon on the crystal hill or rolling flood plains. A personal favourite of a campfire and a few drinks with the stars is a great way to unwind when you have so much space and privacy. The sites are located next to our rental lodge where we sometimes do retreats, or holiday let it as well. The privacy is wonderful if that's what you are looking for. A walk each morning from one end of the farm where you will stay to the other and back is a leisurely 2kms so maybe that is your morning start, but walk the lanes and check the fences and cows while you're at it please 🙂, ticks a job for us while your relaxing. Want to learn about the history of the area? Well a session with us will teach you everything didn't know about the Dargo High Plains, the mountain cattlemen of the high country and much more. Take advantage of your time to enjoy the history of the area and the wonderful past times enjoyed. What is available off farm? Number one, the pub with great counter meals is across the river, 5kms away. Lindenow Farmers Hotel is iconic in its design and history, the reputed Lindenow Long Paddock Cafe is also a few hundred metres from the pub, and the Post Office and Store have all your essentials. Need a few more things? Bairnsdale is 24kms away from the farm and offers all you need. Lakes Entrance is about 40 mins for a day out on the beach. Paynesville around 30 mins. If you want to venture up into the mountains then why not go through Dargo just 45 mins and up onto Mt Hotham (Summer only) via the Dargo High Plains. It’s a great track and on occasions I take people up for a guided tour and secret camp spots on my yearly run up there for my own relax time. East Gippsland in general is a wonderful region to stop and relax during all seasons but especially summer with the water activities available, the camping in the high country, and the markets that abound the area. Our empty and unused dairy has space available out the front for up to 3, fully self contained vans (no tents) Located on the edge of the picturesque town of Buln Buln postcode 3821 (not Moe) take in views of rolling green hills and heritage listed oak trees while the gentle cattle and sheep graze nearby paddocks. We have access to power and river water on all three sites (not suitable for drinking) but no toilet so your vehicle must be fully self contained. One site is a drive through concrete slab, the other two are grassed sites. The grassed sites are next to each other and the slab site is on the opposite site of the driveway. There is a free public dump point available at Neerim South (a 10 minute drive north) 10 minutes drive to the larger township of Warragul. Firewood and eggs from our happy free range hens can be provided for an additional fee. Please only use the provided fire pits and no fires are allowed on total fire ban days. There is no access to the main house or paddocks unless accompanied by the property host. There is some traffic noise during the day but the nights are peaceful. Dogs are welcome but please ensure that they remain on leads at all times. Each site is limited to one vehicle and van or single campervan. We endeavour to provide a peaceful environment, and this is generally a lovely quiet location which more than fulfils our own personal requirements for an undisturbed lifestyle, and will no doubt do so for the vast majority of campers. But we can’t guarantee it will always be completely silent during the day or at night- especially if the lambs or calves or foals are being weaned from their mothers! Ear plugs are available for light sleepers if required. And if you are an extremely noise sensitive person or someone who wants a private camping experience with no noise or neighbouring houses visible, this may not be the right spot for you (if this is you, we would recommend looking for a more remote stay on a large acreage which will provide you with a more private experience) * And while on the topic- if partying late into the night with loud music, a thumping base on your sound system and extremely raucous singing and laughter is your thing, then this is not the right camping spot for you. While we are all for socialising and having fun, if you want to party loudly into the wee hours we would suggest finding a camping spot far away from neighbouring properties where the sound doesn’t carry for miles across the land. Please be mindful of us, our neighbours and others nearby who may be trying to relax or sleep, and keep noise to a respectful level after the sun has set. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies. Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible. Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Additionally, we have now entered our Fire Danger Period for the 2024/2025 Summer Season. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely on the day and we will advise as such.
