Mabel our beautiful Shepherd’s hut, was built here on the farm by us. Nestled in a peaceful corner of our small stud farm, you will have complete privacy with no neighbours, surrounded only by nature. Mabel offers a tranquil space to digitally detox, with views out across the fields to the historic Belvoir castle. Mabel has an outdoor bath big enough for two, perfect for stargazing. Inside a hobbit wood burning stove will keep you warm. You can order food from Barkestone’s BBQ during your stay.Mabel our lovingly handcrafted Shepherds is nestled in a peaceful corner of our small stud farm. You will have your own private space with no neighbours surrounded only by nature. The resident owls, fox and hares will keep you company, red kites, peregrine falcons and many more birds will put on a show in the sky above. You will have exclusive access to the outdoor space which includes a front patio area with bistro set, fire pit, seating, food preparation area and a bath big enough for two, perfect for star gazing. There is grass area out back with pallet seating, deck chairs, and a tripod bbq. Mabel is a tranquil space to digitally detox and become one with nature and the elements. There are views across the Vale of Belvoir to its historic Castle. Inside a hobbit wood burning stove will keep you warm and toasty. There is a king sized bed with Simba matress. Please note there is no fridge/freezer (cool box provided, ice packs can be exchanged) a camping stove is provided inside for cooking with a selection of pans/ frying pan and utensils. Plates, cups, glasses, bed linen and towels are all provided. There is also a double gas stove outside under the work surface. The Shepherd's hut is approximately a three minute walk across a paddock/young woodland from where you will park your car (inside a gated/ locked area.). The path can get wet and sometimes muddy in winter so suitable footwear is recommended such as wellington boots or walking boots ( slippers may be appreciated inside). A torch would also be handy if going in and out after dark. A lantern is provided. A festival style trolley is provided to help transport your luggage. Mabel is off grid but is powered by a solar panel and has gas powered hot water for the bath and en-suite shower. Please note there are only 12 volt usb charge points inside the Shepherds hut. There are plug sockets that can be used to charge large devices/ use a hairdryer etc situated in a corner of the stable block. Another shower and a flushing toilet is also available for use there. The en-suite bathroom within the shepherd’s hut has a modern compost toilet designed to be odour free with a fan, vent and enclosed seat.
