Heritage Hills isn't called Heritage Hills for nothing! It's situated on 21 acres of what was the original Wawonowin Country Club, a 9-hole golf course that was built in the early 1800s and then closed in the mid 1960s. And now we have a beautiful mix of hardwoods and pines, forests and fields with multiplied non-motorized trails accessible right off the property. The very popular RAMBA bike trails are literally an ‘stones throw’ away! Our biggest site, Fairway Field is big enough for group camping that horse campers love, and one site, the Homestead, with an electric hookup. We don’t have a dump station or trash cans so please pack in and pack out.
Phone signal is good throughout the area and we are close to civilization for necessities and only 20 minutes from Marquette. So much stuff to do in this area!
This campsite is a quiet and private retreat, perfect for those who enjoy a peaceful setting surrounded by nature. The hosts, Joni and Phil, are consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. Amenities like clean porta-potties and access to fresh water are highlighted, making the camping experience comfortable. Additionally, the proximity to hiking and biking trails adds an element of adventure for outdoor enthusiasts.
This was the perfect camping spot! If only every place could be done like this. Great prices, very private locations without other sites right next to you. If you’re hesitant, don’t be!
Great location close to trails and easily accessible to nearby towns. No showers, but we were only there for 2 nights so not a huge deal for us. We took a dip in lake Superior :) Port a John was clean/serviced regularly.
Joni and Phil are the coolest! I will definitely stay here again. Such a chill property with beautiful scenery and horses! Joni gave me the best recommendation for a nearby healer to go see. I couldn’t be more thankful to these two!
What an amazing place to boondock!!! We were on Fairway: grassy area, plenty of room yet private, nice view of the adjacent hill. Fall colors had started so really beautiful. The hosts were very welcoming and there if we needed them. Quiet, peaceful and just a great place to chill!
