Burrill Banks is a 35-acre hobby farm just off the Newell Highway, approximately 33km from Parkes, NSW, home to the famous ELVIS Festival (8th- 12th January). Just a few Km up the road is the famous Parkes telescope, or "The Dish". Large cropping and sheep farms surround us. We have 35 sheep, 2 dogs and a small friendly horse. Burrill Banks is on Burrill Creek which runs down from the Harvey’s Ranges to the east of Goobang National Park. The creek is often dry through the summer. The camping area is about 7 acres with open and treed areas. It is on the south side of Burril Creek'. The site can accommodate up to 8 caravans. Alectown is historically a farming and gold mining area with mine shafts from the 1800’s dotted across the area. You can visit an open-cut gold mine in Peak Hill 15 km north of Burrill Banks. For walking and bike tracks plus tonnes of sites and activities, visit the Parkes Visitors Centre. The area will accommodate 5- 6 caravan sites and you can set up where you want. There are generally 3 areas that can be used. Please see the map the areas are highlighted in green. The yellow lines are the access tracks from the camping area entrance gate to the sites. The blue lines are the creek and creek channel.

Great overnighter. Easy to access, rural/farm outlook and lovely camp area. Windy when we were there, which was perfect for drying things out after 4 days of rain!

Convenient peaceful bush setting

We absolutely loved our overnight stay in our caravan at Burrell Creek Camping just a short drive from Parkes. So convenient and easy with access just of the Newell Highway tucked away in a small valley in a beautiful bush setting. Easy to follow instructions to the large campground area where you choose your perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sunset. Tony & Lorraine were very friendly and popped down to check we were ok and all settled in, gave our lovable Jack Russell Archie a Pat and left us to enjoy our time. Thanks Tony & Lorraine for sharing a piece of your beautiful farm with us. We look forward to our future stays at Burrell Creek Camping when we head up the Newell from Victoria.

A great quiet farm like spot to camp. Very tranquil, no highwasy noise at all. Just like visiting a friends farm with sheep in nearby paddock and a shady spot amongst the trees.
