Amazing views
Hipcampers say this spot has amazing views.
16 Ha of grapevines on 40 Ha of land. We also have a cherry orchard so people can pick their own cherries in December. We have stunning views, dedicated sites that can be powered, close to the amenities in the winery or very isolated. We also make some fantastic wine. Close by is the Orange Mountain Bike Club with dedicated downhill trails and events year-round. We are just next to the Lonely Mountain Ultra which runs in October. Mount and Lake Canobolas offer wonderful walk, swims, paddles and fishing. The region has incredible produce, restaurants and wineries.

Cabernet 1
Really lovely site with the cutest dog. We even had a wine tasting and walked through the vineyards. Good shower and facilities :)

Cabernet 1
Overall a nice experience. Unfortunately the site we booked was changed on us and we were moved to ‘Shed’ instead of the booked Cabernet 1 site. It wasn’t the greatest spot, tucked in behind the machine shed looking at the back of the winery. Cabernet 1 site looked amazing, views over the vineyard and far into the distance, an amazing sunset spot (we would have absolutely loved our stay in that site). A large group visited the winery over the weekend we stayed so our site didn’t feel overly private. Allowing dogs off leash was definitely a draw card for us and the freedom this brings, you don’t get that in many places and we loved that about Cargo Road Winery. We visit Orange often and would stay again if we could guarantee our site wouldn’t be changed again.

We had a great time at Cargo Road winery. Very cool to stay beneath the vines! James was great with directions and organizing a fire pit! The amenities weren’t far from where we were camping! Would recommend!

Wine, camping and great sunsets!
We had a great time camping at James' property. We were meant to be in the Wedding camping spot but had to be moved to Lagrein due to a mishap in the system, which turned out to be a happy surprise as the spot was so close to the showers and toilets, as well as the winery. His dog was a joy to play with while we were setting up camp and the sunset in the property is phenomenal. Great area near the town but secluded enough to get some peace and downtime. Thanks, James! :)
