The property is just 7kms from the M1 motorway (take the Morisset exit off the M1) and Morisset just 10kms away with shops and fuel.
There is plenty to do in the Morisset area including visiting the pretty Gap Creek Falls in the Watagans National Park or kayaking around beautiful Lake Macquarie, Australia’s largest coastal saltwater lake. There are some great areas for hiking, bike riding, bird watching and more.
Set on the western foreshore of Lake Macquarie, which has the bush in its backyard. Find a patch of shade for a picnic in Lake Macquarie State Conservation Area where you can spot kangaroos and other wildlife. The saltwater lake is a haven for sea turtles and dolphins and you might see sea eagles and kookaburras, too.
Fern Gully is just 1.5 hours drive from Sydney! We look forward to meeting you.
Fern Gully offers a spacious and serene camping experience, where guests have ample room to set up and enjoy nature. It's a dog-friendly site with plenty of privacy, allowing campers to unwind amidst the wildlife. Les, the host, is noted for his friendliness and helpfulness, often going above and beyond to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. While the proximity to a road and other campers might not suit everyone seeking total seclusion, most visitors appreciate the convenience and the chance to explore nearby trails and forests.
Fern Gully is beautiful! We had a wonderful trip, Les is a fantastic host and we particularly enjoyed our visits from Boris, the extremely friendly Kuvasz dog who roams the land. :)
A good spot for a couple hours out of Sydney. Stayed for the night mid week and were the only visitors. The sites are each in their own clearing which are well spaced, fire pits, well maintained but some minor levelling may be needed, bordered with trees.. Other sites are within your sight line, but you do have your own clearing to yourself. Warm welcome from Boris the dog..
We Had a great stay! At Les’s land! The host was incredibly respectful and gave us plenty of space to enjoy our time. He even chopped up a large tree with a chainsaw for us while we were out for the day, which was above and beyond. Plus, his dog was absolutely adorable! Highly recommend this spot all spots are distance from eachother too so no need to worry about nosy neighbours!
Great property, with well maintained sites. Our site was big enough for us to drive our Jayco Penguin in and out. Site was quite level, but we did chock one wheel. We had plenty of shade during the day and lovely fire in the pit provided at night. Les's dog Boris was there to greet us on arrival, and popped in for a visit several times during our stay. He is very chilled and well mannered and got on well with our dog. We enjoyed one of the walks up to the top of the property and returned via the unsealed road adjoining the property. All in all we had a very relaxing stay and will definitely be back.
