All to yourself
100% of recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp felt private.
Located in the heart of the Hunter Valley. Come stay with us at the Hunter River bush camp, located on our 20 acres! The campsites are located on our lower paddock - secluded and private. You will be likely not see another human in your time down there. Theres plenty of space for large groups and vehicles. As to maintain the private and secluded nature of this site, we have limited the space to 1 site only so you'll have the place to yourself! The bottom camp is small and level - good for single groups of 1-2 vehicles, the upper camp is on a bit of a slope and may require chocks for vans and the like, but great for larger groups. Both camps are adjacent to each other so you can take one, or take the lot! all included in the same booking and price The Hunter River is a short 5min walk down the stone steps, where you and your dogs can fish, swim or enjoy a cold can. The property has good access - less than 10mins from Hunter Expressway. 1hr40mins from Wahroonga, 40mins from Jesmond Full phone coverage on all parts of the property Fires are permitted - firewood available for purchase during booking. Dogs are allowed. The camp is a long way from the house, so off lead camping is OK on this site - ideally your dog will have a good recall as we are in the bush Note that there are no toilets provide, this is a bush camp.Hunter River bush camp is a secluded and private bush camp, with good access to the Hunter River. Full phone reception, and 10 mins off the hunter expressway The river is a 5-10 min walk from the campsite. The path is made up mainly of stone stairs There is a fireplace and an Ozpig for guests use. There is only one site, so guests will have the whole place without neighbours The site is a short drive from amenities including shops, restaurants and wineries. However private enough that you will not see anyone during your stay. Dogs are welcome. Firewood can be arranged upon booking

Christian's campsite offers a secluded and serene experience, perfect for those looking to escape into nature. The river and bush walks are a highlight, though some visitors mention the trails can be overgrown and the terrain is sloped. The site is highly regarded for its privacy, with guests often having the entire area to themselves, making it ideal for campers with dogs. While the lack of amenities means it's best suited for self-contained campers, the proximity to local shops and wineries provides convenience.

We had a wonderful night camping at Christian’s land, the instructions and communication before were really easy to follow and the site itself was perfect for us. Our dog loved exploring and the walk down to the river was beautiful too. I would definitely recommend here and we can’t wait to return!

Loved this camp and will be back again soon. Was a shame the river trail was very overgrown and would have loved to go further but otherwise it’s a beautiful spot. Cant wait to bring the kids next time. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Private location, sloped block.
59 ft travel trailer · With pets
The communication from Christian was great. The location is very private, we had it to ourselves and our dogs could be off lead with no problems. The block is really sloped, there is only one spot that was not. We had had a lot of rain the week before we came and the river was quite inaccessible. We found a waterhole about a 10 min drive away that was a great place to spend the day. The town is only a 2 minute drive that has everything you need, ice, bottlo, bakery and a small supermarket, even Maccas! The outlook of the block is lovely, but the slope was difficult.

Nice secluded bush camp close to the Hunter wineries. Lovely bush walk to the river with great views. Not many level areas, as it is nicely tucked away behind some hills away from the houses. Hosts communicated well but left us alone, which we liked. Would recommend.

awesome campsite. A quiet, clean camp in the bush near the Hunter River, nice and shallow to swim in. Christian was also kind enough to bring down some passionfruit from his property.
