Jila Campgrounds offers a serene escape near Sydney, nestled by a beautiful river perfect for cooling off. Many appreciate the clean and spacious campgrounds, which are great for families and pets. While the amenities are generally praised, some guests have noted issues with flies and occasional noise from fellow campers. Great campsite but the cabin is not as close to the lovely river pictures as we had expected. Cabin advertised for 4. Okay for a family with 2 children. When I booked , I thought it was 2 separate sleeping areas but it is just one room and separate bathroom. The bathroom facilities are great as is the covered deck and gas bar b queue. Fortunately we found out the sleeping arrangements beforehand and took a tent for son and wife to use next to cabin. Disappointed that the hot tub was a bath on the covered deck and the fire pit was a tin drum and no sign of any wood to light a fire . No facilities to sit round it. The cabin is in a great area for exploring the area -Richmond and lovely national park walks. Also only an hour from Sydney. We are from Uk and enjoyed ourselves as we were with my son and his wife who live in Sydney. However I felt it was rather pricey as only really suitable for 2 adults and two children Shari g a double sofa bed. Philip however was great and a very good communicator. Replied immediately.

Great campsite not far from the city. Easy to get to and good communication from the host. Beautiful river and beach for kids to play in. Spacious camp sites and flushing toilets. No firewood provided however you can find lots of kindling and small branches.

Camping with the family and pet

The river was safe for the kids. We stayed one night and the weather was lovely on the day we arrived and it was raining at night and the next morning. Lovely to listen to the rain while sleeping in a tent.

Great spot to camp!

Lovely spot to camp up, lots of space between sites. My husband and I took our campervan over a weekend at the end of March and spent the warm afternoon by the creek. Use of fire pits also a plus. Will come back!

Great Camp Site

We went camping at Jila Campground. It’s a very nice and calm place, with acceptable toilets located in various areas of the campsite. It’s near the Grose River, which had clear water during our stay. We forgot to bring our own firewood, but Phillip, the host, helped us gather some wood, loaded it into his ute, and brought it to our fire pit. Of course, it is not his duty, but it shows he truly deserves to be the host of a campground, ensuring that campers enjoy their stay. The grass was well-kept, and there were fire pits available everywhere. We will definitely go back with firewood, a kayak, and, of course, more drinks!
