    Old Bara is a stunning cattle property, often described as truly magical. Camp next to the creek and dogs are welcome! Old Bara offers so much more than just a place to park. Suitable for all size vehicles/vans/tents. We have great loos, voted as "the best in Australia" however, we do not have showers or powered sites. Many sites available, avoid the crowds, we do not over crowd our campers. Only 25 mins easy drive to all the wonderful Mudgee wineries, cafes and restaurants. It's the perfect place to unwind and recharge the batteries. Give the kids a screen free holiday! Dogs are welcome as long as they on leads at all times except in the off leash paddock.Old Bara is a 1100 acre working cattle property, it is suitable for all campers from small tents to large vans. Camp in serenity, privacy and security whilst enjoying a true bush camping experience within the boundaries of a private property.  Check in time after 10am before 6pm. **We do have a Super Strict cancellation policy, please check the weather forecast before making the booking if you are fair weather campers! From our years of experience with travellers staying on our property, we know people seek an authentic bush break. Bring bicycles, small kayaks, kites or drones. Make the most of the open spaces. No motor bikes as we offer our campers peace and quiet within the secure boundaries of a private property.   Old Bara is a stunning cattle property, often described as truly magical.     Natural Beauty at it’s Finest!

    We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at “Old Bara”. From the moment of arrival we were greeted with Sally & Richard’s warm hospitality which extended throughout the property with clear signage, freshly mowed campsites and well maintained facilities (.ie drop toilets complete with air fresheners, wash basins, liquid soap and paper hand towels). Our campsite - Creek Flat 3 - was a stunning location with a beautiful outlook over the creek and mountain view. It was very peaceful sometimes hearing the cows in the distance at night. So glad we took Richard’s advice to visit the picnic table look-out. The view was amazing, as was the tourist guide for Mudgee & the surrounding areas handed to us by Sally. We explored Gulgong, hiked ‘The Drip’ at Ulan, visited Mudgee and enjoyed lunch at a winery. So much to do and see but be prepared to drive and get your car dirty on unsealed roads (which wasn’t an issue for us as the rewards were worth it☺️)

    Very well organised and run by friendly hosts. Good toilets serviced regularly, wildlife including wombats were a hit with the grand kids. Easy access by most vehicles and RV.

    Ticked all our boxes when booking. - dog friendly - separate sites with plenty of room - close to water - cleanest loos ever. - able to have a fire Add to that diverse birdlife, awesome outlook where ever you look, cool clear night sky's, warm days.

    Absolutely wonderful location. This is getting back to nature at its very best. The peaceful and serene surroundings are perfect for the soul. Sally is the perfect host and made sure everything was up to standard. Already planning my next trip back. Thank you to everyone at "Old bara" for sharing your land with us.

    I loved the Old Bara farm with its rolling hills and abundant wildlife. Sally and Richard are lovely hosts and I would definitely go back for a camp.

    Sally is fantastic, as is the property. This farm is large and silent except for nature. It is immaculate and preserved with true respect for the environment. The creek is great, the grass in mown and perfect for camping. Thank you Sally!
