1 site · Tent3 acres · Medlow Bath, NSWCamp Medlow is located in Medlow Bath in the upper Blue Mountains, and is just 800m from Medlow Bath railway station, and only 8 minutes drive to Katoomba or 5 minutes drive to Blackheath - so is conveniently located close to all the key attractions, like Scenic World, the Grand Canyon, the Three Sisters, plus all the amazing tracks, trails, bushwalks, and abseiling and climbing locations that the upper Mountains is famous for.
You can pitch up to two tents on the level and very secluded campsite where you'll have complete privacy in a fantastic bushland setting, which backs directly onto Blue Mountains National Park. The campsite is directly in the centre of 3 acres of natural open forest comprising many old and tall Blue Mountains Ash eucalyptus trees (Eucalyptus oreades), Banksias, Waratahs, and Wattle. The property is also home to Gang-gang and black Cockatoos, parrots, owls, magpies, spotted-tailed Quolls, possums, Eastern bent-wing bats, and wallabies.
Camp Medlow is for TENTS ONLY.
Camper vans, caravans, and car rooftop tents are NOT permitted. This is because you can't get your car/van to the actual campsite where you pitch your tents. It's just a 50m flat walk along the rustic trail to the campsite from the car park - so you'll need to carry your gear to where you'll set up your tents.
There is designated parking for two cars (not camper vans, caravans, or rooftop tents) on the Beaufort Street (dirt road) side of the property.
The level campsite is placed next to a rocky outcrop that features a traditional camp fire circle and is shaded by a big old Ash tree.
The statutory Bush Fire Danger Period has now commenced for NSW. The Bush Fire Danger Period runs from 1 October to 31 March each year. This means NO CAMPFIRES ARE PERMITTED AT CAMP MEDLOW - NO EXCEPTIONS can be made, sorry. Do NOT under any circumstances light a campfire at our property.
Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are still approved for cooking, but all cooking must be undertaken at the fire circle. NO COOKING AT THE PARKING AREA AT ALL. Cooking at the fire circle not only maintains basic fire safety, but protects the precious flora and fauna on the property, as well as adds to your own privacy.
Please see the site rules for more info on the Bush Fire Danger Period and Total Fire Ban (TOBAN) days.
There is no water available at the property, so please bring your own - both for drinking and cooking.
There are no toilets on the property so you must bring your own camp toilet that you take with you when you leave. Absolutely DO NOT dispose your human waste or toilet paper/wipes on the property. The closest public toilets are at Medlow Bath Park on Railway Parade, which is only a short and easy 10 minute walk. These toilets are open 24x7.
The Grand Canyon Walking Track, which is in Blackheath, is 10 mins up the road from the campsite and Blue Mountains National Park is right at your tent's doorstep.
No pets please.
